Because I dont think his dream long term job is simply to get paid. I think he wants to go some place where he also has a shot at winning. And Im sorry Chicago and Cleveland dont fit those molds. Why is he going to do the Skins any favors and allow a bidding war and risk going some place that will likely end his career. No matter the team, no one is going to offer him a straight $90M guaranteed any more than Luck got a straight $87M guaranteed.

Again... lets look at it like this. Cousins doesnt HAVE to talk to any other teams while he is under the tag. Personally i think if they tag him, he signs it right away. Giving the Skins two options.... sign him long term, or watch him walk next year. Now he MIGHT talk to other teams. But how many times have we seen the Redskins show interest in players/coaches and those individuals say... no thanks.

If the Skins tag Kirk.. he can either sign it right off and make the Skins either sign him long term or watch him walk.

Kirk could talk to other teams, bu just because the Browns make him an offer sheet, he does not have to sign it. And seriously.... aside from the Niners.. who else needs a QB that Kirk would want to sign with??

Athletes rarely sign with a team based on the team, they go for the best deal possible. Kirk has said he feels a responsibility to he fellow QBs to sign the biggest deal possible and there is nothing wrong with that at all

OK let me rephrase that. Kirk might talk to every team that calls. But knowing that the starting point is $XXM and having his choice... would he sign an offer sheet with the Browns for $90M guaranteed, or the Jets for slightly less??

I get it, the two first round picks are tempting (assuming we get that much for a QB we dont want apparently), especially if one of them is in the top five picks in the draft. But honestly to me its a bit of a wash, because it means we are probably going to use that pick, or the #17 on a QB. Unless you really believe Dan is going to sign off on going into the season with Colt McCoy as the starter and Nate Sudfeld as his backup. At the end of the day, butts in seats is going to factor into this. And if we are going to move in another direction at QB, Bruce is going ot tell Scott, that we need some one to generate a buzz... and sorry gents that aint Colt or Nate.

Dean don't think I'm here to bash you, but I'd be surprised if Kyle doesn't convince John he can win immediately with Kizer, Tribusky, or Watson. He's had GREAT success with Schaub, RG3, Hoyer and of course Ryan.
