I have to give you a one name answer when there are loads of possibilities out there?
yup. Isn't that the point? You want these picks over KC. What are you going to do with them? Dean, this isn't fantasy. The Redskins have to field a team. And the QB is the most critical position on that team. You want me to answer yes or no, then I need to know how we replace KC to determine if it is a good deal or not.

ok my opinion , if we lose KC in 2017 our team takes a step back period and i gave a ton of other options

Very possible. Who said I didn't say that? Its just you guys just dismiss the idea that he could get dealt. Im keeping all options open. I don't hate/love KC. Its whats best for the team. To admit failure if KC is not here in 2017 is also crazy.
we dismiss it because it doesnt work for us or another team

You can replace him by multiple guys over two off seasons with Fa's and draft picks. Even if we do roll with McCoy in 2017 the season is not over.

You can say that is a certainty it wouldn't work for us or the 49ers. I love how you guys think the sky is falling if KC is not back with us. Pure panic.

I will resist doing what you do to us. SO I'm going to give you a chance to clarify. Are you saying that you go with McCoy in 2017 and wing it after that? That is your solution to replacing KC?

I cant give you a specific answer b/c there are so many possibilities. I gave you a yes or no question and you give me this. Sure that is fair. lol

Fair enough. In this scenario you have laid out where we trade KC to SF for 2 1sts and go with MCoy in 2017 and wing it after that on "possibilities" that may or may not work out, my answer is I would not do that trade. If you think this team would not take a step back with McCoy as our QB in 2017, I don't know what to tell you.

Fine, but you not thinking about the money we save to add other FA's, more draft picks, and sign back our players that will help this team now and the future. Im not saying McCoy is Brady but you put weapons around him like we did KC he can win you 8 or 9 games. Plus the whole team would be better b/c both sides of the ball will get upgraded talent wise with the extra money. Do you understand that?

Of course the season isnt over. But you have just drastically altered the direction of the franchise. And if the best you got is, roll with Colt and see what happens. First of all we know that is unrealistic. If we decide to "Roll" with Colt, team needs shift directly to needing to find a QB. If 20 years worth of fuck it lets see what we get out of this guy, with a little bit of lets do something really stupid and trade for a QB or the right to draft one has not taught you that this teams two biggest issues are...

1. Lack of stability at the Coach
2. Zero stability at QB

I dont know what else to tell you. But if we deal Kirk, I would feel 95% assured we would draft a QB this year. Likely in the first or second round latest.

So yea, the season wouldnt be over, but I highly doubt the season would be considered one where we would progress forward. More like one where we simply hope we dont regress.

Nope, I don't understand that nor agree with it. Because that money you have saved will be lost over the years as we throw ourselves back into the QB russian roulette game we had been playing for the last 20 years. There is a very real possibility that those shiney new things you bought with those new pics and all that money will be long gone by the next time you find a QB that is "elite enough" and you will have spent even more money over those years chasing fools gold like RG3. Penny wise and pound foolish, my friend.

With zero stability at QB, you end up with Free Agents who come here for one reason.. because they know that THEY will get over paid. BUt if you are really a fan of the Vinny mindset, then yea, lets save money at QB so we can spend it on Free Agents who we will over pay. Because guys dont want to go to teams that are expected to lose unless its for more money than they can refuse or because its their last pay day.... Good job Vinny.

Well this is where we disagree b/c I believe we don't have to pay top dollar to get production at the Qb position.

Not at all. You are assuming that we will have a bad Qb who wont be productive. You cant make that assumption at this juncture.

I have a question. If the non-exclusive tag is placed on KC on March 1 do other teams know the draft pick compensation right off the bat or is that up in the air?

They know what the league has mandated as compensation (2 1sts). They can still make an offer and negotiate, as in any trade.

So for example the 49ers know about giving up 2 first round draft picks when they make an official offer for KC?

Yes. That is the league mandated compensation.

While the wording of the CBA says the tag comes with two first rounders as compensation... its actually up in the air. Teams can call and try to negotiate the price down. Failing to secure an agreement from the Skins to take less, the team has one of two options.

1. The can extend Cousins an offer sheet anyway, knowing that Washington can either match it or take the picks.

2. Simply not give Cousins an offer sheet leaving Washington to eat the $24M and likely forcing us to then draft a QB early because no way do we tag Cousins a third time.

Well there is one other option.... Cousins refuses to sign the Tag tender, no one makes him an offer and the Skins are stuck much like Carolina was last year. Norman was tagged, no one wanted to give up the two first rounders PLUS $50M guaranteed, so no one even bothered to make him an offer sheet. Fast forward two months.. Norman is a Redskin and the Panthers got diddly.

I'm not sure of the actual mechanics, but SF understands that if they submit and offer sheet to KC (assuming he is under a transition tag) and Was decides not to match that offer, KC goes to SF and SF must compensate Was 2 1st round draft choices.
