Yep- but I wonder which team he will be playing for. OKC has proven they're not willing to spend to get quality guys that will make a difference.

Westbrook is not leaving the Thunder.

They can give him 200 mil this Summer

National Basketball Association’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement includes a special provision that grandfathers Houston’s James Harden and Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook into the windfall of super-max contract extensions available to several star players this summer, league sources told The Vertical.

This summer, Westbrook could sign a five-year, $219 million contract extension that would begin in the 2018-19 season. He’ll make $28.5 million in 2017-18.

Harden could sign for an additional four years and $171 million starting in 2019 – on top of the $58.7 million owed to him in the next two years of his current contract.

Not even last season. Beginning of this season, everyone was saying how the Lakers were putting it together. I've maintained that L.A. is a mess and that the Deng/Mozgov contracts will eventually screw them over.
I don't think anyone thought they'd be a contender this season. But the biggest improvement thus far is how well they were playing together. Walton went there with a plan- and up until they started to experience injuries that plan was working well. It was why they were able to catch some of the better teams off guard and get some wins.

Now Luke's biggest challenge is getting his locker room back & redirecting their focus back onto the court every night. This could prove difficult with such a young bunch & no real vets in the locker room to help out.

Jokic is quick becoming one of the best young players in basketball...he doesnt get much pub in Denver--- but for people that pay attention - he is definitely starting to look like a possible "centerpiece" type of guy.
He's a beast. I was kinda hoping the Celts would try to get Nurkic on the cheap since he doesn't play a whole lot.

That is a lot of loot- but we both know that enough losing sometimes will make guys look beyond how much they can make.

Yeah, it does....But, not by this Summer.

He's a media darling on his quest to average a triple double.

They are a playoff Team. So, the losing won't be a issue.....yet.

Paul, Harden, Westbrook, Curry.....aren't walking away from 200 mil.

Hell, even Cousins is gonna reup as dysfunctional as the Kings are.

Oh I agree it won't happen right away- if it happens at all. I am just saying I wouldn't be surprised if he left.

True, it isn't fair to judge the Lakers with some of the injuries they've had.

Regardless of the injuries, I think the 76ers have been in a better situation than them. Yes, the 76ers don't have roster balance and that's an issue, but they've got Embiid and Simmons and I wouldn't trade either of those guys individually for any two player combination on the Lakers roster. They also own either the Lakers 2017 or 2018 first round pick, a pick swap from Sacramento, the 2019 Sacramento pick, and their own picks -- so the roster balance isn't a huge issue to me.

We'll see how things pan out. I think the Lakers are moving in the direction of becoming a solid playoff team in a couple years but I don't see them being a legitimate threat to win the Finals unless they strike gold on one of their upcoming picks (which they may not even have the rights to) or they're able to lure a top-tier free agent (which seems less and less likely, especially considering the Deng/Mozgov contracts.)

Yeah, the money looks bad.

But, they needed to stabilize that lockerroom.

Can't have a roster full of diaper dandies.

The Lakers got off to a fast start. But, the losing is not really surprising.

They have looked awful, lately, and seems to have regressed.

But, they are only one back in the win column of the Timberpups who have a hell of alot more young talent.

It's gonna take some time for both of those Teams.

I expect the 76ers to be last years Jazz.

Great Season, showing staunch improvement. But,barely missing out on the playoffs....

When you do, Please draft Lonzo Ball.

I can't say that I want Ball (not a knock on him but I want Simmons to run the point for the 76ers and I'd rather have a guy that's a more polished scorer/shooter.) Whether we make the playoffs or not, we have the option to swap picks with the Kings. So I'm really hoping the 76ers stay hot and the Kings end up with a top 5 pick.

being in line to get picks from the Kings and Lakers is pretty a pretty awesome situation to be in.

shit- add Simmons, the Kings lets say 8th pick and the Lakers say 5th pick.......Not to mention tons of cap room.

Hinkie deserves an apology from some people. lol.

A bit off topic but you all should, if you haven't, go see the flop posted on the college board.

Manu, LeBron, Harden and Divac combined could not perform a more obvious, egregious flop than that Oregon player.

That flop was beyond embarrassing.

A flop for the ages, and it wasn't by a Duke player

Seems like the Bulls fined Butler, Wade, and Rondo.

what are those 2 then?
They're obviously not the types of vets that have the respect of the younger guys otherwise they wouldn't have the turmoil they're experiencing.
