like what?
i just dont see it happening. They cant trade eThompsn
I saw something that was Frye, Shumpert and Felder and a pick.
I dunno.

One of the "best fits" for Melo is back to the Nuggets -- for something like The Manimal, Barton & maybe Gallo. (or Nurkic could also fit somehow -- but not all of them) Would have been funnier if it was Chandler & Gallo and change ? (similar trade going the other way)

russell isnt playing. Again. New Mr Glass @DJ ?
If Steph Curry can come back from those brittle, glass ankles, then Russell can come back from a mcl sprain, and a bone bruise. I mean, I don't know how it works out over time, but I feel confident as Russell isn't a Derrick Rose/Westbrook in that his game isn't built on athleticism

i totally agree--- i was mostly just razzing DJ becuase he constantly got on Kyrie's ass for being "Mr. Glass" when the same exact thing was happening--- a young guy the team is taking extra special care with becuase they arent going anywhere this season anyway so they treataevery injury with kid gloves- and if that results in an extra loss or two and some extra ping pong balls- so much the better.

though-g etting platelet injections in your knee at age 21 does seem a little extreme- i ahdnt heard of that before Russell had it done, but maybe its just a new protocol.

Jokic is quick becoming one of the best young players in basketball...he doesnt get much pub in Denver--- but for people that pay attention - he is definitely starting to look like a possible "centerpiece" type of guy.

DWill & Larry Sanders for the last 2 roster spots would be a dream scenario for the Cavs

@Mecca, maybe I missed it but what's your take on the possibility of the Clippers getting Melo without giving up any of their big 3?

Dude, we are desperate to hold onto oft-injured CP3.

I'd do it for Redick, Austin and anyone else they wanted outside of Jordan, Paul and Blake.

The Clippers are not going to pay JJ 15-20 mil a year.

Anyone who doesn't believe that will be the asking price needs to look at the deals signed by Crawford, Rivers, Crabbe, Bazemore, JR Smith.

So, better to get something.

Also, you know what the Clippers biggest problem is at the end of most games?

They can't make a shot in the last 2 minutes and they totally abandon defense.

Melo can help with one of those.

With him and everyone else healthy, they'd have a shot at making the WCF....as their Ceiling.

Nothing they can do to up end the Warriors. But, maybe theSpurs.

Don't the Warriors need a defensive-minded center?

Not really. What they actually need is another wing scorer off the bench. Sounds kind of strange given all the firepower that the Warriors have, but that's what I think they'll need.

Clark has been good, but I don't know if I fully trust him during the playoffs. McCaw wouldn't warrant playoff time either. Iguodala is hit or miss from the outside and Livingston is mid-range and in. Another player who could play with the second unit who could get buckets would be a major help in the playoffs especially when teams bog down on both KD and Steph.

The Warriors will trot out both Pachulia and McGee who will take about 60% of the time at center. Draymond will take up the other 40, with KD getting a larger share at the 4. David West has been really good this year and hopefully he'll carry that over to the playoffs.

The Warriors will largely go small in the playoffs to exploit advantages. Getting a defensive minded center doesn't really help the team in what they're trying to do. I'd probably guess the rotation goes 10 deep, but probably 3 of those 10 will be interchangeable based on matchups.

Starters: Curry, Thompson, Durant, Green, Pachulia
Bench: Livingston, Iguodala, West, McGee and probably Clark for now.

It would be interesting to see Melo on a team without real talent around him. I'd love to see the Raptors make a play for Melo because then maybe the ECF would be entertaining but I don't see them doing it.

If they're playing Pachula/McGee 60% of the time at center then I disagree and say they could definitely use an upgrade at the position. Maybe they need a wing scorer more but I think they'll do fine with the rotation of guys they currently have.

Again, it just really depends on the matchup. I can see what you're saying from an insurance point of view, but really it's not a huge need. The Warriors actually lead the league in blocks and are 6th in the NBA in rebounding. They're also #1 in defensive efficiency in the NBA.

Legitimately the only teams the Warriors could use another defensive big against is the Grizzlies and maybe the Jazz. All other teams, the Warriors have a distinct matchup advantage. Jordan for the clips isn't a threat on the inside and you'd welcome him to take as many shots as he wants. Aldridge and Gasol both play a lot on the perimeter so you would need a mobile big to guard them, not a paint protector. You have no need for another big against, Houston, OKC, Portland and Denver, who all like to play small at times. Even against the Cavs, they don't need another defensive big. They need one that could guard on the perimeter. Toronto and Boston are similar in this fashion as well.

Logistically it doesn't make sense to take up another roster spot at this point. The need becomes more centralized to secondary scoring, since the Warriors defense is predicated on switching and quick doubles to the post with excellent rotations.

Problem is he has that no trade clause.

He's not waiving it to go to the Raps.

The Knicks are screwed, unless like you said in another post, they get a third team involved.

I would love to see him go to the Rockets or Celtics.

Rox so I cansee him play under Trigger Mike again,Celtics cause they need another guy.

Problem is: He won't go to any team, maybe outside of the Cavs, if they have to give up anything significant to get him.

Again, I'd love to have him at the cost of a couple of scrubs.

But, Phil can't be that desperate.

I have a feeling you will end up with Rondo by buyout or trade.

He's a malcontent.

But, he fits a need.

Would he be worth the risk when he starts shit in the Lockerroom?

I don't know about Rondo. I'm not too worried about locker room stuff. I feel like the Cavs are one of only a few locker rooms that could handle any personality.

I worry about his shooting. If the Cavs are gonna play a point guard that can't shoot... I think I'd rather see Liggins out there, a 6'6" lockdown defender. Rondo has playmaking abilities, but the Cavs are really built around perimeter shooting.

I mean, I'd rather have Rondo than an empty roster spot though.
