Why do you think 2?

There will definitely be 1 (if they are consistent with the books), but not sure who you think the second will be...
Going by spoilers, 2 cast members haven't been seen since the filming of the episode that airs Sunday.

Ah...

I avoid those sites, so I was unaware...

On TTD, there will be a "surprise guest", which usually triggers Chris into saying "That doesn't necessarily mean anything!!" Well, this week, he said "That doesn't necessarily mean anything!! Well, it is the the mid-season finale, so, yeah..."

There is zero doubt that there will be AT LEAST one death, and that doesn't even require spoilers. As for the second, it must be a shock, because all of my "candidates" are minor characters who would not be noticed if they were not on set for multiple weeks (Eric, the #2 dude from the Kingdom, the new Savior liaison for the Hilltop...)

On another note: Does everyone really think Negan/Dwight's wife is so "super-hot"? I saw a coupla honies in that harem that looked to be higher on the hotness scale.

I think she's pretty hot but I agree he has hotter wives. Thought she looked good on The Talking Dead a few weeks ago but her voice is a bit of a turn off for me.

Speaking of Negan's wives, I was half expecting to share one of them with Carl to try to win his loyalty. Although I'm not sure if losing his virginity via r*pe would have the desired effect. Then after Negan was talking to about wanting to screw Olivia (couldn't tell if he was being serious or not), I thought he might force Carl to r*pe her as a way of punishing both of them.

Can anyone give me one good reason why Carl didn't empty that gun into Negan when he had the clear opportunity? Besides a premature ending to the story line, I mean.

He's still a kid without quite the killer instinct the adults have so he paused for a split second.

And I can't buy the excuse that he didn't wanna kill anyone else. He had no prob blowin' away that dude on the truck.

I wish they would have opened with a Tara running scene, but oh well.....

I liked this episode, they hit on multiple aspects. Kept ya guessing as to what comes next. We also saw what Dwight had to go through....My question is, when they showed the preview for next week, was Ricks face because of:
-Negan was there?
-Negan was holding Judith?
-Did Carl fuck up so bad he cost Rick to lose what he found because Negan was there unexpected?
-Death

I gotta go with B here.

And the Tara running scene is an awesome idea.

They could run it in slo-mo, with, like, "Chariots of Fire" playing in the background. :pound::pound::pound:

I think we are supposed to assume it is Paul, since we know he is in the factory. But I don't think we will find out right away.

While I now know somehow that Paul = Jesus, it is annoying as hell that you keep referring to him as "Paul" because nobody on the show calls him that...

Just sayin'.. ;)

I too think it was Jesus/Paul, because they made it look like Daryl distracted Negan into distracting Dwight to give Jesus a chance to jump off the roof and into the Sanctuary.

Was wondering about that because Negan appeared to notice Daryl looking up at the roof of the truck and I wondered whether he caught on that something was up?

Yeah, that should have all gone down WAY differently... I do not buy it that Carl, after all this talk, after all this supposed developing bad assed-ness, and after this whole damn plot to kill Negan on his part, gets all the way to the Sanctuary, gets a fully loaded gun, EVERYTHING works out 100% perfectly, Negan comes right out in front of him....... and he pusses out and doesn't pull the trigger, KNOWING that NOTHING good is going to happen if he let's Negan live here...

VERY stupid plot item there... ANYTHING but that...

Kirkman called him Jesus for no other reason than as a needle to Christians. I am agnostic/atheist, but I respect other people's religion.

I don't know if the show will use the "needle" that the books do, but I just have a hard time calling him Jesus.

Well they could have just had Carl blow him away, and prematurely end the whole Savior threat, and you'd hear a pin drop in here then!

I'm way behind in the comics now. Don't think I'll catch up, it's kinda' nice just taking the show at face value.

The point I was trying to make was more along the lines of there being an INFINITE number of ways to have Carl's "mission" go awry, for Carl to NOT kill Negan and be captured, that would have been plausible and palatable.

They chose the one way to get from point A to point B that was nearly impossible to fathom and truly ridiculous...

Eh, again, that annoying reality of time and space. They need for him to almost succeed for Neegan to be interested in him, and they need him to fail to not have Neegan go out like a lamb.

I suppose the gun coulda' jammed, but I guaraneffingtee if that'd been done, people would have been grousing at that being unbelievable too.

Very interesting find. Not a spoiler, since it really just a theory based on future events in the books. Also, just a slight comic-related spoiler...

In music, PPP means to whisper...

Perhaps you could refer to him as HeySoos... that's probably what hipster Millennial Jesus would like to be called anyways.

I don't fancy myself a brilliant writer, but I could, again, come up with a million ways for Carl to "almost succeed" yet fail (Dude, I get that Negan cannot die there. That isn't what I'm saying.)... And while yes, I'm sure a jamming gun would have brought some rolling eyes, it would have been NOTHING like the, Getting all the way there, grabbing loaded assault rifle, blowing away a couple of Negan's men, Negan stepping RIGHT OUT IN FRONT OF HIM (Ya know, the guy who he witnessed bashing in the heads of Abe and Glenn), pointing the gun at him, and then........

......nothing.

C'mon chf. I know you are in the business of defending every fuggin' thing writers do and chalking it up to, "We fanboys just don't get the complicated nuance of it all and how to suspend disbelief and how we need to allow for the limitations of budget and occasional shoddy special effects and blah blah blah.", but this is just poor, poor, poor and lazy writing that could EASILY have been done any other number of ways.

This time you really can't cover for them man... Sorry.

So yeah, I basically have to write it in my own head as, "Okay, NO WAY in fucking hell does Carl not kill Negan there. So I'll just pretend that that all went down just a bit different and move on.".

At no other time in this entire series have I had to go to that type of "suspension of disbelief". Yes, even the falling van.
