i would agree we have done the best with what we have i just think dean wants to argue to argue
Not arguing but being one of the worst redzone teams in the league matters to our defense.

thank you and its not absurd. I proved it.
I could agree with this statement, they have done as well as could be expected given the talent on that side of the ball. But then one really can't make the argument that the coaching is the issue, either. For shouldn't Barry be given a bit of a pass given such mediocre talent he has to work with? Dean and others want to see a more aggressive, blitzing scheme. Who doesn't. But if you don't have the horses to run that style, should the coach be criticized and fired, as some have proposed?
I say this not as a fan of Barry's, but looking at the situation realistically. I have no idea if Barry is a good coach, but I do know that there are major deficiencies he has to coach around.

Stating it isn't proof. That is why your claims are absurd. You point at one play when the whole game is played. You don't get a pass for making a single play when you gave up 27 points...we do get a win.
I said it before and I will say it again. We ran Haz out of town with pitch forks and burning torches. And he didnt have nearly the amount of talent this defense is supposed to have. Joe Barry is not a good coach.
that single play was the game winner. The Cravens INT. Why wouldn't the defense get credit for this win?
Simple... because if Cravens had NOT made that INT you would be the first person pointing out how it was the offenses fault for not scoring MORE points. You have all but blamed the Kicker for missing two field goals when the defense basically bent over and let Dak and Zek r*pe them the entire game.
But Cravens DID make the INT to end the game.
And it was a great play. But until that moment our defense had DONE zip dick zero to help out the offense. We are top ten in time of possession in the league, and it means nothing as almost any team in the league can come on and score at will against our defense.
You need to watch the game again. What about the INt in the endzone by #47????
You are kidding - right? This guy is the best kicker they have had in some time. So he misses some FGs in certain games. It is happening rt now w/ just about every team in the NFL. Unfortunately it is part of the maturation process. I certainly hope that you are not also blaming him for any misses in the Packers game since those conditions were brutal.
Kickers are going to miss at times - deal with it.
I think we just have different expectations of what we should get out of a defense. My thinking is, if the offense hands the defense a lead in the 4th Quarter... the defense should be expected to hold it. If the coach feels he needs to kick an onsides with 7-10 minutes left in the 4th because he knows the defense cant hold up.... that right there is problems number 1-5 on your team. When you go up 14 to 0 in the first quarter, and the game comes down to the 4th quarter.... the offense is NOT the issue.
of course you areNot arguing but being one of the worst redzone teams in the league matters to our defense.
That just proves that it was a bad call by Gruden to onside kick it. The defense has come up with big plays on final drives this year. By the offense not converting in the redzone and kicks make or missed FG has something to do with our defense. Im not saying our defense is the best but they have made big plays this year.
Come on man.. be real. Aside from these four BIG plays you harp on... what has this defense done to inspire confidence in them at ALL?? Why should the coach trust a defense that has NOT been able to hold a lead more often than not?? The bad call was thinking Ziggy Hood could be a starter in this league. The bad call was thinking Cullen Jenkins was anything more than a backup.
OH and while our offense is BAD in the redzone, our defense is actually WORSE.
Im not saying we would of stopped them. But lets say we held them to a FG. Still could of tied the game with the last drive. I don't care what anyone says, its throwing your defense under the bus in THAT situation.
Lets say if my aunt had nuts she would be my uncle. We hadnt held them to a field goal most of the day. What on earth besides dumb luck or a mistake by Prescott makes you think the Cowboys wouldnt have just ran the ball down our throats and ended the game any way?? This defense has done NOTHING to deserve the benifit of the doubt. Sure they got lucky a few times and managed not to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.... but you cant honestly think this defense deserved the shot to close a game out since really they havent more often than not.
If we aint up two scores, this defense will find a way to lose it for us.
i dont think we gave the game away there
