Before the DJ TD, our defense had just given up a long TD drive. What makes you think, after our quick score, Dallas doesn't just wear out our defense?

I do not blame the defense though. As weird as it is...I blame the offense.

You can not give up on your defense like that. Especially in a game of this magnitude.

I don't have any problem with the coaching. The only play I question is the wild cat...seriously, it tells everybody you are running.

You're right dean. We lost because of bad coaching. I'm sure a good coach could turn ziggy hood into the best run stopper in the league. But he would first have to teach him not to get driven 7 yards downfield on known running plays.

Gruden gave up on this defense. That is what pisses me off.

When teams are expecting an onside kick, the success rate is under 20%. When they aren't, it is 60%.

It didn't work but it wasn't a bad call. Like somebody said, they scored on all but 2 possessions.

I would say it is foolish to think the defense could have prevented a long drive by Dallas.

Not foolish at all. You don't give dallas a short field in that situation. Especially when we have momentum.

Momentum means nothing when the defense is tired and we're outphysicalled the whole game.

What you don't do is pound your head on a brick wall that isn't moving and think you can get through if you keep trying.

If Gruden is going to play like that then we have no chance at winning at all. This defense has come up with some big plays for us this year. That was such a slap in the face

It doesn't put pressure on Dallas to score after we answered with Jacksons TD? Why give a good offense a short field? that was the game.

Bad coaching huh? How about safeties who can neither tackle or cover? How about interior LBs who are nowhere to be found on most plays? How about a D line that allows holes to be open that could allow any RB to thrive let alone Elliott? How about a D that never contains their QB & rarely even touches him? How about an all star CB more worried about running his mouth than playing football?

What game were you watching? This one falls almost exclusively on the defense.

Seriously. I really think Dean was watching a different game. Its always easy to blame coaching. And I too question some of every coaching staff's calls. But to blame this loss on bad coaching is not really understanding what really was happening on the field. Bottom line is our defense could not stop them. It wasn't scheme, it wasn't play calling, it was execution. Our defense was man handled. And this has been the theme with every good running team we have played.

Also - as others have alluded to - give credit to the Cowboys. Their O line dominated & their offense pretty much did whatever they wanted. They were just the superior team in that match up & yes if they had to say go 90 yds for a TD instead of a short field my money would be on them scoring a TD

I seen a coach giving up on his defense with 6 minutes left to go in the game down by 5 points. Im not saying we have an all star defense but give them a chance to make a play for you.

I said some things about the coaching staff. I don't think they lost the game. They gave Dallas some short fields but I think there were two punts in the entire game. One on each side. There was little D played in the game.

The one play I really didn't like was the wildcat. I liked it even less with JReed in there. I know, easy to say now.

I also agree with those who feel the coaching staff needs to get the red zone issues figured out.

The Redskins won aspects of the game but did not make enough plays to win the game and the final score is all that matters. Give Dallas their due.

Why? Why not blame the defense for giving up on the coaching staff. They didn't earn the right to be trusted. Why not give your STs a chance to make a play? Do you honestly believe that the defense could have stopped them if they started on the 25 instead of the 50? If so, why?
