And make no mistake, some one in the league scheduling department had a serious inclination to screw the Skins on scheduling.

Start with a Monday nighter, followed by a Division game to open the season.

But the real back breaker portion was supposed to be the London game, followed by a possible murders row of games.

A Sunday Night conference game, followed by a division game on the road a scant 3.5 days later.

Lions
Bengals
Vikings
Packers
Cowboys
Cardinals

All considered playoffs contenders at the start of the season. This stretch was supposed to crush this team.

Throw in a Division games and the Panthers....

Some one figured the Skins would be well out of contention by the time we got to tomorrows game.

Got to be proud of this team for where we are right now no matter how tomorrow plays out.

I guess the conspiracy stuff could be possible. Who knows how many people including other NFL owners Danny boy has pissed off. Personally I don't buy it. Looking at the teams listed before the season started andthe only one I'd really be concerned with is Ari.

This isn't your "way out" post because you fear the Skins are gonna get their ass kicked tomorrow is it, Shark? Cuz I can't front. If the Skins get their ass kicked tomorrow I'll be disappointed like a motor scooter. In fact at this time, I don't see the Skins winning the division, but it could happen starting with Dallas' loss tomorrow. Still, the Skins would need help for that. Since they don't need any help for this. I fully expect the Skins to overtake the Giants and put an LAPD choke-hold on the 1st wild card seed sometime in the remaining weeks solidifying that with a season ending win over the Giants. If we're not in 1st place in the NFC East at that point.

What's that highlight show with James Brown, Micheal Irvins, Phil Simms, Boomer, and Brandon Marshall? Anywoo BM was asking what is Kirk Cousins signature win of his career thus far. Then he said KC didn't have one, but tomorrow's game was a great opportunity for him to get it. I liked that. I also liked how in-depth they went into the Skins?packers highlights showing things that were said after certain plays. Cuz had me crackin up after Kelley's big run. He was talking to Shawn Lauvao telling him he did a hellified job blocking, but Lauvao wasn't really engaging KC back or anything. Then KC told him he was doing a hellified job of not celebrating or being happy or something like that. It was funny. I also like the KC encourages and pumps up other players and deflects credit from himself. Which shows a level of humility. Yet he's also just cocky enough. KC was saying that Rodgers was the best as in best QB in football. And a coach or trainer disagreed saying he saw the game's best QB playing tonight (meaning Sunday night) and that it wasn't Rodgers. And KC just said, nah, not now, but one day.....

Kirk's signature game to me is the huge comeback against the Bucs. I liked that.

Could have been really awesome if the D had held with 1:05 left after Capt. Kirk brought them back against the Lions and if Hopkins had not choked the game winning field goal again after Cousins led them downfield.

When I looked at that stretch before the season started I would have left out Detroit and added the Panthers which is one week after Carolina.

Tough stretch, but we did open up with two home games, and get to close with a division game at home. Honestly, this is our first true road game in over a month. We had vs. Cincinnati, the bye, followed by two home games. It was just a weird schedule this year.

All in all a loss today and the Skins will still control their own destiny, as the loser of Minnesota and Detroit will be 6-5.

Potential playoff opponents are already taking shape. If the Skins are the 6 seed, we are most likely going to Atlanta. If the Skins are the 5 seed, we are probably going to play at the winner of whoever wins the Vikings/Lions game today.

Now if we beat Dallas today, all bets are off. Now you feel you can win and maybe should win the remaining games on our schedule. The focus shifts to winning the division and trying to get home field. This scenario has us rooting for the Seahawks and Falcons to lose Sunday.

A loss this afternoon and the division is lost and now the focus turns to rooting for all the other division leaders (Seattle, Atlanta) to keep winning and help knock out Tampa and Arizona, their respective opponents Sunday.

In short, if the Skins lose today and still make the playoffs we are either going to play @MN, @DET, or @ATL. I know we can beat DET, so I'm pulling for them this morning.

@Breed I would be lyin' if I said I thought this game was in the bag before it even started.

My point was more we got one of the more gruesome schedules, hell i would say with the london game, and based on how teams we have finished last year, very gruesome. I had us at 6-10 on the season.

Im proud of the team considering the issues I thought we would have coming into this season. We still got some of those issues (Cant stop the run, still not yet sold on the run game)

But I dont think we will get blown out again this year like we did in the season opener. So IM seeing real progress that actually might be sustainable. Didnt think I would be saying that nine weeks ago. Hell I figured we would be Debating on if we should take a QB or D-lineman and who would be our next coach by now.

Word on the present debates/issues of the team. After the Cowboys game. I was thinking closer to potential overhaul of the engine. Today I'm thinking more tune-up and refinement. Can't say I'm sold on the run game myself, but the last 3 weeks has been the best 3 game stretch run-wise for a Skins RB since 2013. And the run game doesn't have to be great, just effective and dependable in certain areas like short yardage and goal to goal situations. I like what I've seen from Kelley thus far. The run defense is a very real concern as is the tackling, the biggest concern imo. We could use upgrades throughout the whole middle of the defense. Though according to a couple tweets Cali posted. We may not be as bad off at safety as many of us believe. Whitner isn't what he used to be, at least from a capabilities aspect, but he has been an upgrade over Bruton.

i think we need to be cautious about thinking ahead . get by dallas first because a loss, even worse a horrible loss will turn this high into open rebellion

trust me we will have little sympathy and will be unwilling to look at this team as improving after the hate fest that will follow
