That's where it could get a little tough for the Lakers when exploring trade possibilities. They have a nice young core that look like they could develop into contenders on their own if allowed to develop and grow together. They also appear to have the coach who can do it.

The "Let them grow up while the Warriors and Cavs start to get a little older" theory definitely has some merit.

On the other hand, there's no guarantee that will happen and the opportunity to get a young, proven superstar type player to accelerate the rebuild could be very, very tempting.

I will say though, it's nice to actually have players that could get them into that type of trade talks again.
with russell looking really good- i think maybe trading ingram is a little more palatable.....you could get a stud for him....its tough to figure who though

usually you see those kinds of trades coming because guys are on the cusp of free agency or are disgruntled...

Cousins is obviously the first guy that comes to mind- Blake maybe but the Clippers have siad they dont want to trade him and no way would they ever trade him to the Lakers....RW just signed a big deal and isnt going anywhere for the time being....

who out there is a guy that could move who is a big time star that would be worth it to trade Ingram? I dont know the answer to that unless you reall loved Cousins which i dont think they do.

Unless Luke really likes him and thinks he can handle his attitude issues, which I haven't heard one way or the other, I don't want Boogie anywhere near this team.

Don't want Griffin either. I think I prefer Randle's toughness and upside over Griffin.

If they pursue any kind of trade or FA, I'd like to see them go after CP3. If he lets it be known that he's not coming back, the Clips might be open to a trade. He's 31 though, so you get him at a high level for maybe 2-3 more years. Is that worth giving up a young guy for?

At least for this off-season, unless they can sign CP3 or Hayward as FA's, I don't really see the need to do much of anything.

its about getting as many chances at getting good players as possible- getting as many picks as possible....the more chances you have the more chances you have of hitting.

i am in shock the heat dont have a 2nd rounder until 2022. --- all though i think the Cavs are in a similar state- all though- Dan G. just did pay the all time record to buy a 2nd rounder last year so it seems like they will add them that way if they see a guy they like.

I am totally against trading Ingram - The Lakers are looking good enough with the limited help from Ingram to win 35 games this year if not 40. By the end of this season I think he is going to be as good as Russell and Randal and the Lakers might not need to trade at all to be a contender next year. I wouldn't even trade him for Cousins the basket case now

Unless you are Jerry West or the Spurs front office.

No matter where they pick, they rarely miss.
The Warriors did made some trades and free agent signings though over the last few years, so their was not 100% through the draft - Just saying

2 minutes left in the LA / Pels game and Julius randle is 2 points and 3 assists from a triple double-- you can add in 2 blocks and 2 steals as well.

wow.

I remember before the Lakers played the Warriors this year, they were saying how they Luke Walton wanted Randle to play something like Draymond Green

Lakers win again.

Slowly start getting used to it, guys.

Hopefully we're getting a peak into our future. Seems like the Heat are on a similar path to this Lakers team. Because right now it looks like we're where you guys are at 2 years ago.

He's definitely turning him into Draymond. He's got the skillset for it but we're still about 2 months away from Randle kicking dudes in the junk. Then the transformation will be complete
