RB's - D. Murray, L. Miller, P. Perkins, D. Henry, A. Blue

WR's - Julio Jones, B. Marshall, R. Cobb, Tyrell Williams, D. Moncrief

0.5 PPR SCORING

This offer is sitting on the table for me, as my trade deadline approaches tomorrow night at TNF kickoff. On the surface, this is very good return for a struggling player. However, a couple of thoughts/questions...

#1 - Is Brandon Marshall's upside, considering his talent and the amount of attention he still gets from Fitzpatrick. Still more valuable to me than what would be two flex option/depth piece RB's. Along with yet ANOTHER depth WR in Sanders, that is likely no better or worse than the large group of guys I already have after Julio?

#2 - Does this actually make my team better, if you're looking at it from purely a points/production standpoint from my lineup week-in and week-out? I am not convinced it does. Murray and Miller will just about always be in my two RB spots, outside of Murray's bye. Then, I'll have Julio as my WR1 every week. Then there's an open WR and flex spot. To be filled by Marshall, Cobb, Tyrell, Moncrief, Perkins (who I still think could breakout)

This is a funny offer to think over. When I look at it on the surface, I think those three guys together carry more value than BMarsh. Without question. However, the way my team is structured. I just think BMarsh's upside is more valuable than three depth/fringe-lineup pieces for me. Even if BM fails to rebound, I am not particularly worried, given the pieces I have behind him.

I actually think adding these guys would just give me more lineup headaches every week. Feel free to prove me wrong. Maybe Riddick is super legit and I'm missing it.

1. Fitz's knee... is he even playing? Marshall has one of the best track records in the league, but you see what I see. Two games vs the Pats left too.

2. Byes count. And Miller is not matchup proof, imo. Can't trust Perkins yet, so yeah, Riddick and Sproles are perfect "in a pinch" candidates.

3. Exactly why you should. You have guys behind Marshall. No headache for me, Sanders sits most of the time. Having Riddick and Sproles will come in handy in week 13 (Tenn bye, Hou at GB)

....of course, I might try and sell Marshall by his name 1-1 for an RB (I would actually add Miller and shoot for DJ or Bell)... but I would happily accept that offer if I couldn't.

I don't know that I could hit "accept" fast enough. Two starting RBs in a .5 PPR league that catch passes and a throw-in WR3. Take that all day.

I took the offer. The board being in unanimous favor of it swayed me. Will really be kicking myself if BM reverts back to his form last season now, but I suppose that offense is truly in shambles.

Even if he does, you still did good.

On the contrary, I think your headache is gone. You can't sit Marshall, and your alternatives say you should. You don't have that problem with Sanders.

Interested in your thoughts on a follow up offer I got after the BMarsh deal. Our league moves really fast near the deadline. lol

I am being offered my choice of Jordan Howard or Latavius Murray, AND Larry Fitz. In exchange for DeMarco Murray.

DeMarco has been as reliable as it gets. Fitz may provide a tad more stability in my WR2 spot, but it makes the RB situation blurry every week with Howard/Latavius, Lamar Miller, Riddick, Sproles and then possibly Perkins down the line. It's not like I am short on WR options.

Leaning towards sticking with DeMarco. What do you think?

Yeah, that's what I think too. The slight upgrade in Fitz isn't worth it.

It's not even an upgrade really....just another lineup headache symptom.

Julio, Cobb, Tyrell, Moncrief and Sanders is a very solid group.

Murray is a fantasy stud on a non-passing offense. You were smart there. Also, get Sproles in your lineup. He's gonna have a fine week.

Problem is, you could argue a multitude of possible starters for me will have a fine week.

D. Murray and Julio obviously locked in.

After that... Cobb vs TEN, E. Sanders vs NO, Tyrell Williams vs MIA, Sproles vs ATL.

Not easy to pick my WR2 and flex.

Oh man, you're not kidding. Miller is obviously you're RB2. I think you can go any combination of Cobb/Sproles/Sanders for those last 2 slots and you'd probably be in good shape. They all have extremely attractive matchups.

I'm in the same boat. I've got Miller/Sproles/D. Booker/Jeremy Hill as RBs this week along with Alshon/Mike Wallace/Mike Thomas/Jarvis Landry/Kenny Britt/Corey Coleman to fill 5 spots. None of them has a particularly bad matchup (especially with Talib out for Denver).

Yeah, with Travis Benjamin out and having Rivers as my QB. Inserting Tyrell Williams is also extremely tempting as well. I don't know who I could sit though... I like Tyrell. He's sneakily broke into the top 20 in WR points, and could be on the rise even more here down the stretch with an easy schedule.

Hmm... You have a lot of options. I'm most definitely going with Miller and Alshon. I would lean Booker (dependent on any news that breaks upon a committee with Bibbs) and then probably Wallace given the matchup. Then it's such a toss-up for you in the flex. I don't think any are bad plays... just a complete blur. loll may lean Sproles or Landry.

A top complaint this season is that matchups have been misleading.

I feel this could be a trap with a so-called "easy" schedule... If the matchup is easy, and the team figures to have a lead, the logical play is to run the ball and limit the possession time of the other team.
And the Chargers have the RB to do just that. Which would reduce the WR involvement.

It may seem to go against "logic" but the better matchup for a WR may be to go up against a tougher (but not a shut-down) defense. Or to play against a team that it may trail/lose to. Because it almost ensures that they'd have to pass.

Of course, even that doesn't always go as planned.

Or... play a team like Oakland, who also scores in droves and will keep up with San Diego. While possibly even scoring more. My playoffs are week 15 and 16. Rivers/Williams have CLE and OAK who have been shredded by #1 WR's and QB's. I'll gladly play those two with confidence.
