When you play football for 12 years and coach a bunch more let me know dickweed.

That was funny, if you want to find out how old I am i'd be happy to show you. :thumb:

Yep, Kirk was inaccurate and needs to play better.

Still need to adjust the run/pass ratio.

It's not that simple as just adjusting the run/pass ratio is it? Every game is different. Yesterday they definitely should have been running more as they were winning and the average was looking fine. But vs Pitt, they were trailing quite a bit and obviously can't run a lot in that scenario.

I'm fine with more pass tendencies since that's where the talent on this team lies. But it's the time of the play calls as well. We all know those fades, fades and more fades were probably time when a run or two could have been mixed in there.

Yea but that was all before the forward pass was invented :thumb:

So you have to ask the question... did we get behind because all we did was throw passes, end up in three and outs that killed no time. Thus leaving our old meager D-line spent by the third quarter.

Correct Jon, it is not a simple math equation. But you have to have balance. You are correct about the Steeler game too. The Skins were eventually forced to throw the ball because they were behind. Play action is huge, when you can make the LBers respect the chance of a run you open up the passing game. If you aren't running they aren't as likely to bite.

Yesterday they were averaging 4 or 5 yards a carry but forgot the run.

Chicken and egg. But could argue either way. I will say that Gruden tends to bail on the run a lot sooner than some coaches when it's not working initially.

Jesus christ dude thats literally what i said. You need more info than just completion %.
Yet Im the one with reading comprehension issues. :L

True the football was more rugby like and I have no idea how ole Sammy slung it. I played in a triple option (I with wing back) offense. We attempted the forward pass a few times.

More recently our HS played pro style offense and my nephews both played in spread option offenses in college.

I also played CB in primarily a zone defense.

What position and offense/defense did you play in?

Oh BTW, I also understand analytics. Ask dad what they call a sniper who hits the target 50 out of 50 times. I bet it starts with an "a"

If that is sniper than no. I was an AQ on F-14s in the Navy then worked on primarily C-4 and D-5 missiles and later DDG 51 class electronics. I just tried to make sure our guys were shooting accurately. :D

I'd have to go look up my paperwork to see what my MOS was. I think it was 7 thousand something. I don't feel like picking up that stone tablet now though. I can tell you my plane is retired, one of my two ships was scuttled and on the bottom of the ocean. All the old C-4 boats are retired and there is snow on the roof but I still hit the heavy bag 3 times a week.

.... and no the heavy bag is not my wife. I am not married. Which I am sure is no shock to ehb considering my sunny disposition.

Dude.. I miss the F-14 and F-15 class birds. I know the newer ones are supposed to be the hotness.... But as a 2531/8541 (Communications/Sniper) Aside from seeing a flight of AH1's at work, nothing was more fun than calling in fire from a wing of 14/15's.

Couldve fooled me dude. Literally all Im saying is we should use more info than just completion % and apparently thats moronic. I dont even know how you can type that with a straight face (I hope to god youre just pranking me this whole time.) Not to mention you said as much yourself when you pointed out the QB who was 6 of 10 couldve had all his completions be bad throws that shouldve gone for TDs - which is exactly what I was saying. Theres more than just whether you complete a pass.

I played safety and a little bit of RB and WR. Didnt play for too long. Have to say Ive learned much more about football by reading about it than I ever did from playing.

LOL... I got my MOS tattoo'd on. Along with my Dog Tags.... Marines are weird like that. Last float was on the Guadal Canal, she was sunk for target practice off the coast of Norfolk in 2005.

Miss the 14s too, hell I miss the flight deck of the carrier. Nothing was more fun than that. You must have been calling in 14s after they started fitting them with bombs. We were strictly air to air when I was in. Would have been cool to work on a fighter/bomber.

You have my respect being a sniper shark. Bad mutha's!!

I think my cousin was a pecker checker chief on the Guadalcanal. It was his only sea duty in 20 years. I couldn't stay off of a ship. I was on the America and Eisenhower right after she was commissioned.

And yes Marines were a different kind of guy but you had to be.

I went in in 90, rules were different then. If you scored a consistent 342 out of 350 on the range with Iron sights in boot camp, you went to Quantico for 6 months and picked up a secondary MOS. Come 95, when things were really rolling, they started doing guys as Primary MOS of 8541 again. And as a Primary MOS of Comm, I got to call in fire from 14/15 Squadrons, A-10's and Arty batteries.
