the guy is suspended we would need help early
We are going to live or die on the arm, mind and skills of Kirk Cousins,
That is all.

True, but you need the threat of a running game to sell the play action and to keep the defense honest. Right now, I'm not sure we have any threat of a running game.We are going to live or die on the arm, mind and skills of Kirk Cousins,

long term , maybe , he is one strike away from a year long suspension , short term he wont be available till week 5 amking it week 6 or later to get in shape and learn the playbookWe need good football players. There is zero risk on Williams. He could be an answer long term.
Hoping he has a killer year - for you and usguise...I just kept Jones on my auction fantasy team....
lets give him a chance
Exactly. The Skins lived off of play action last year.True, but you need the threat of a running game to sell the play action and to keep the defense honest. Right now, I'm not sure we have any threat of a running game.

You sign a guy with potential for the cheap...even if he is not here for the first four weeks. He had 11 TDs last season and costs next to nothing. We have no proven RBs in our stable so we might as well get a bunch of potential and hope for one to make it.
or we can sign a vet RB as a stop gap this year and draft an Rb in a heavy RB draft
Ok, I'm doing a 180 here. While on paper, you never consider a guy who rushed for something like 200 yards as a senior on a very bad Tulane team and averaged under 4 yards a carry - to be your starting RB... as a rookie, but this guy is the exception. He's... wait for it... a football player. And I'm okay with him starting at RB. In fact, even if Jones gets 100% healthy, I might prefer Kelly ahead of Jones. He would be maybe the most obscure starting RB ever in the internet era. He averaged less than 4 yards a carry in his 4 years at Tulane. He's basically a small fullback in an NFL that no longer uses fullbacks. Skins really need to ACQUIRE a running back who can step in and start. I'd even consider Ray Rice at this point. They can't risk getting in a position where they have to depend on someone like Kelley.
Im assuming Jones would be ready for Week 1. BUT if Kelley shows well in the last two preseason games would he actually steal the starting RB job away from Jones?
