I personally don't like the rule change. It's strategy. It's essentially awarding incompetence. Particularly with Drummond and Jordan who are beyond terrible free throw shooters.

Agree on disliking it because it takes away from the game from a strategic stand-point. That said, teams should be able to come up with a better "strategy" than hacking

I agree with you. It's a take and give argument. Sure, it's probably better to just beat a team outright as you've suggested, no arguing that. But guys like Drummond and Jordan do their teams as disservice as well as they're the main players on their respective teams, yet are huge liabilities because they're beyond sub par free throw shooters.

The next DIRK!!!! Ok maybe not --- but would be nice to see the Heat be able to some day have success developing their own euro-player

Hopefully he can develop into the stretch four role player that McRoberts was supposed to serve. It will take a couple of years though, but hopefully a good investment.

Okaro White is a human pogo stick. I watched a ton of him at FSU, but I don't think he'll make the final 15. His offensive game isn't too developed.

Sounds like a good enough piece to stash into our D-League then

I would deal Dragic and Winslow for Westbrook - only because I don't think Winslow will be a special player and relieves us of Dragic's salary - regardless if Westbrook goes somewhere else in 2017.

OKC still has a really nice roster and Dragic would give them a talented veteran at PG who can also play SG for stretches.

I wouldn't. Westbrook could leave the following offseason and we would've essentially given up Winslow who's a great young prospect and Dragic who we gave up two first round picks for. Target him in the offseason if he wants to really come here.

Well, we have different opinions on Winslow - and Dragic is due too much money for he next 3 years being on the wrong side of 30, IMO. Even if Westbrook leaves, it would just give us more cap space going in to 2017.

Winslow just finished his rookie year and is 20 years old. Anyone's prediction on how he'll turn out as a player means dick right now. Dragic just turned 30 and is/was playing in an offense that didn't cater to his skill set which requires a fast paced offense. Also, his contract is going to be extremely cap friendly when the cap goes up even more next season.

Having cap space doesn't mean shit when you have zero direction. Lakers had a shit ton of cap space and a nice set of young assets in Russell, Randle, Clarkson, and Ingram. Yet the best they could do is overpay for Mozgov and sign Deng to be a mentor. Winslow's cap number going into next year will likely be $3 million and he's going to be our starting SF.

Anyone who trades for Westbrook when he is 100% going to opt out next June is very stupid
