Hiestand is killing it. I don't think they'll end up with Trey Smith, but OL recruiting is still among the best in the country.

I think the next commit they land will be Darnell Ewell DT from VA

He is a long shot but We are in is top 6 and he already said he wants to come back to ND. His mother is a big fan of ND. So you never know.

5 star DE Joshua Kaindoh who is committed to Maryland is still looking at ND. I think in the end he ends up at ND. This would be a huge pick up for ND if this happen. This kid is a stud. He really likes ND. ND ended up 2nd when he did commit.

5 star WR Peoples-Jones is very impressed with ND and ND will be in his top 5. He is trying to set up a date to come back. This is a top talent just Drob last year. This is a get that ND wants bad.

I've never felt like Kaindoh will stick with MD. I sure hope Notre Dame gets him, he's my number 1 target

More great news ND is a finalist for the #1 Recruit in the Country. Foster Sarell OT 5 star stud. ND usually doesnt lose OL recruiting battles. Wash and Stanford are 1 and 2 right now. ND is in 3rd right now but the good thing is he already visit ND and he is coming back.

Here is a throw back name in the news: Tee Shepard CB 5 star recruit that picked ND but academics got in the way and transferred to community college and then transferred again to Ole Miss.

Coming into college he had a great story because he was hearing impaired. Well since high school it has been up and down for him. He also left Ole Miss Program.

Well he has entered the Supplement Draft. I wish him luck.

I love getting big time help on the DL in general, but when you are beating out OSU, Michigan, Clemson and Bama for a recruit that's saying something. I'd LOVE to get Ewell, flip Kaindoh, and land Sarell. Skill position players are great and create lots of excitement, but I've come to realize that CFB is often won in the trenches. Let's get it done on the lines.

I agree we need to add DT help. This would be a Big help. I agree getting the sexy exciting player is always great but Dline and and Oline talent is what makes your team. We have the oline we just now need to get that DL talent.

Also, Kelly has done a great job of turning high 3 stars and low 4 stars into really productive college players at the skill positions. CJ Prosise, Corey Robinson(was good when healthy) and Chris Brown were all 3 stars and Will Fuller was a low 4 star. I'd rather load up on 5 stars and high 4 stars on the O-line and D-line if I had my choice.

This is the biggest difference between him and Charlie. Charlie needed High 5 star players. He did a bad job coaching up the low star players.

Scout has Notre Dame's class of '17 up to #2 overall. The guys I really hope they land some combination of Kaindoh or Echols at DE and Donovan Peoples-Jones or Hezekiah Jones at WR. After that, everything else is icing on the cake- assuming Notre Dame doesn't lose any of their big time recruits.

Even more outrageous is how well the class of '18 is shaping up. Keep winning, good things happen.

I love these picks ups, but until they actually make it on campus and play, I will ton down my excitement just a little bit. I do agree, ND is on fire with recruitment....
