As far as the two sport thing... Look at Jake Locker!! It's worth a shot giving him a scholarship regardless. Ideally he becomes our starter, and Jamal Turner, who ESPN recruiting calls "the best athelete in the 2010 class by far" becomes either a WR or a DB.

He did it right. Out of high school he got educated in baseball instead of college. He learned the hard way so he will appreciate the nicer stuff.

He got a HUGE signing bonus and his starting salary in 2016 is a little over $500,000.

Beats the hell out of my first five years after I graduated high school. Totally beats me to hell.

Congrats to him. If he needs some investment advice I am there for him.

you are wrong. he was at AA and was only hitting 185. they were hoping a call up to Omaha would get him more work on his swing (what I heard on the radio at least). in 3 games he's 3/10 with 1 HR. i highly doubt that holds up, as his career in the minors has been 237, although 2015 he did get up to 269.

His strikeout rate is just atrocious. I would wager he had a huge learning curve as playing ball growing up he didn't see nearly as much breaking stuff as he's seeing now and that's where the high K rate comes from.

Did the Chasers have an injury and needed him or was their guy struggling? You don't usually call up a sub-200 AA hitter and insert them into your AAA lineup. If there was no injury, I only got two reasons why he'd get the call right now. 1. After 5 years, the brass are getting tired of waiting for him so they push him up here to see if he sinks or swims. 2. Ticket sales are down and they could use boost from the publicity. But after reading @tometom's reaction, I could believe that aspect about just trying to get him some work against better comp. However, the logistics of bogging down the Chasers with a guy who hasn't earned that start at AAA is going to be a double negative to them (clubhouse and production). I'm happy to see he has enjoyed a bit of success right away and hope he sustains it.
