STARTING PITCHERS
Detroit Tigers
LH Daniel Norris (1-0, 4.09 ERA)
Lifetime vs. Indians: 0-0, 0.00 ERA in 1 start

Cleveland Indians
RH Danny Salazar (10-3, 2.22 ERA)

Detroit's starter, lefty Daniel Norris, has pitched once before against the Tribe, allowing four hits but no runs in three innings last season as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. Norris is coming off his first win of the season, an eight-hit, two-run outing Wednesday vs. Miami.

Cleveland right-hander Danny Salazar has won six straight starts, never allowing more than three earned runs and six hits in any one game during the stretch. Salazar tossed a seven-inning shutout Wednesday vs. Atlanta, after the Tigers tagged him for three runs in 5 2/3 innings on June 24.

CLEVELAND -- There might be an explanation for Jordan Zimmermann's bumpy return from a pulled groin.

He has a neck strain.

The Detroit Tigers placed Zimmermann on the 15-day disabled list Monday, retroactive to July 1, with a strain on the right side of his neck.

He'll miss his scheduled start Tuesday against the Cleveland Indians, moving Anibal Sanchez back into the starting rotation, while right hander Dustin Molleken has been recalled from Triple-A Toledo.

Bet he wouldn't have went on the DL if not for the break.

Hopefully this new kid can go five or six tomorrow.

I know Zimmerman is on the DL but it's a sick joke that Annibelle starts again.

In baseball you always get a second chance ... This is big for the Tigers, I am not optimistic, but I am hopeful.

Yo! Smitty.......My nephew got is first official offer yesterday......Lot's of teams have been talking to his coach in the past few months.....Lots of little small schools asking his coach if they have a chance or if he's going Div 1......Well Teams are aloud to talk to kids this time of year and the head coach of Western Carolina approached him yesterday with parents and his coach around and a offer was extended....They were down in Atlanta playing on a travel ball team.....Yankees and Cubs scouts were down there as well looking at players (not my nephew that we know of).......Western Carolina wasn't even on the radar, even his coach cancelled a tournament to N.C. because he didn't think his players were gaining any interest in that state.....He's rethinking that now....

Think my sister mentioned something about the Coach of Western Carolina has 26 MLB players playing or plaid in the MLB... Pretty sure she said playing but that seems like a lot for one school.....
