I disagree. I think his professionalism and work ethic would be great for the young guys. You can't put a team out there full of nothing but 19 and 20 year old's. You need veteran influence and it helps if those veterans can actually still play a little.

Yes, you need some veteran influence, but not at the price and length of contract that Noah will be seeking. He's well past his prime and often injured. I'd rather bring a player back like Bass who can still play and likely wouldn't cost as much.

Not me. He isnt that same player anymore. Trust me. I have watched him for awhile now. He is a shell of himself. He cant guard multiple position anymore. Yes he will give you rebounding and Hustle but scoring not so much anymore and his free throw shooting has declined big time.

I'm a big Noah fanboy, so I have watched him too. I know he's not the same guy anymore. But he still has a little left in the tank. He's not a guy that you sign to be difference maker on a playoff team anymore, but for a young team (like the Lakers), his leadership on a short term deal could be huge.

Meh, Bazemore has earned himself a raise. He was one of those short term guys that I actually would have liked to see the Lakers keep.

I don't know about a raise to $20 million, that seems pretty high, but he has earned himself a raise, imo.

I was disappointed that the Lakers didn't resign him. Bazemore didn't want to wait around while they were pursuing Melo. No way would I pay him $20mil now though!

I'd definitely keep Bass. I'm not talking about Noah long term. A 3 year contract with a team option on year 3 would be fine with me. As tlance points out, you get his leadership for a couple of seasons and then go after a younger center as the young guys are starting to reach their potential.

I don't see Noah signing a deal like that. Given his age, I think he'll want as long of a contract as he can get. Not sure what the commitment the Knicks are considering though.

If they are spending big on a center, spent it on a big that can grow with the youth, not a past their prime often injured one. Maybe a one year deal, but no way would I want to commit any more to him.

They can't have 5 diaper dandies starting.....they need a vet to offset the youth.

if he walks for nothing it is absolutely 100% rationale to say that they should have gotten something for him when they had the chance- especially a team that has such a paucity of draft picks for the next few years.

next year who do you think you will be bragging about the Heat getting a meeting with that doesnt sign with the HEat? Last year it was Alrdidge, this year Durant......Chris Paul next year?

I just actually read this.
Aldridge last year?
You really think Riley met with him for that?

Riley has the respect of players to get meetings in general, because they want to hear what he says.

Your man has planned 1 secret meeting since becoming an owner and that was in an airplane on his hands and knees.

I agree but 6-7 million is all I'd pay him per season. These contracts are getting ludicrous.

I agree. I just don't think Noah is the right vet. There will be cheaper veterans available that can still play and provide that influence for the youth. Resign Bass. The youth were big fans of his.

Noah would be fantastic for the Lakers. Best possible center signing for them, IMO. They really need a leader at this stage more than they need an allstar. Get the allstar in 2 years once the young bucks develop.

I'd prefer Horford (think he signs elsewhere) but think Noah would be a solid pickup as well.

Doubt they get KD now but if they can add another solid player......NY is looking like a top 5 team in the East imo.

If Rose and Noah can both play at least 65-68 games.

That's a hell of an "if".

Rose played 66 last season and unboased people that have seen him recently indicate he looked good with nice explosion. Noah is just too young to be done imo.....I think he can bounce back.

By signing him for 18 mill that means he is suppose to be a different maker. Im not saying he wont help the Knicks Im just saying he wont perform at the price he will get paid. The most I would go for Noah is 10-12 mill for 2-3 years. He actually would be a good fit for GS. They dont need offense from him. Just rebounding and Inside D. They lacked that against the Cavs.

Biyombo may get 15-18 million. I'd pay Noah that before Biyombo.....as long as Noah can be on the court....which I think he can.

I also agree he would be an ok fit for the lakers because of the leadership but the issue u have is you have Roy at center and didnt you guys just give him a decent contract. Noah doesnt want to be a bench player. He said the other day he wants to be a starter and be out on the floor during crunch time.

Its a good situation for the Knicks because its essentially a contract year for Rose.

He can earn himself a big payday next off-season by having a solid year.
