Awesome news! Love this guy. And I love that he's being rewarded after showing up to all the offseason activities even without a contract.
Side note, doesn't someone on this board know him personally? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I spoke to Marshall last night. He was very happy to be locked into Denver for the next 4 years. This is where he wants to be. He assured he is playing every season like he has the previous as he isn't the type to just get his contract and run. Which I'd never even think of him doing as good of a person as Marshall comes off to me. He also said he doesn't like the Las Vegas heat. (Random note)
I loved listening to his press conference. Honestly you can hear the fire in his voice of wanting to do even more for this team. Also he does not like Jacksonville from the way he spoke of his experience there. Kind of reminds me of hearing Big Al speak of his time in Cincinnati of coaches just being jerks and just not a great atmosphere. Very proud of the player he has become and can't wait to see him be our leader on the field for the next really 5 years since it is more of an extension than just a flat 4-year deal.
Also just one other note. Anybody else find it funny that it took Gase and Manning going to Del Rio and Fox to convince them that this kid shouldn't be on the practice squad and should be given a chance to shine on the roster? Just seems like 2 defensive minded guys should have noticed what this kid was bringing to the table especially Del Rio since he was a Linebacker for a long time. Maybe they did notice just were not quite as vocal as Gase and Manning about this kid. On that note this is why I do think Sunshine can take over as the 3rd WR on the team this year. Manning and others have spoke in the past about how he loves to scout players during his down time from preparing for NFL games. This is why I don't think Manning will stay away from the game for too long because he just loves it way too much. Also shows though that he does have a scouts eye to notice talent.
I will never forget Marshall his first year on the PS and how much he would hit me up telling me the vets couldn't believe he was still on the PS. He said several players talked to the coaching staff about getting him activated. At the time they were pretty good at LB however in fairness to Denver and nobody in the NFL was trying to sign him off the Broncos PS so Denver was in a pretty good situation to "STORE" him.. Then Von Miller went down and Marshall got his calling. As the season went on Marshall was getting more and more frustrated but remained positive. He and others knew he belonged on the active roster. He patiently waited despite being frustrated. Denver was his favorite team as a child and here he was living out his dream as a Denver Bronco. Here is a guy who could've given up getting cut by Jacksonville twice, he could have been ok with "just making it", but he wasn't satisfied. He was a terror on scout team in Denver and worked his way up through hard work, and the respect from his own teammates. Marshall is really the ideal team player and well loved teammate. He hasn't changed from the day I talked to him at Nevada to the day he lands his first big contract. I've known a lot of good NFL players as persons in my lifetime, but Marshall is right near the top with the likes of Alterraun Verner, Trumaine McBride, Devin McCourty (and others).... I respect him as much as any player I've been in contact with, not because of the player he is but because of the person he is. I share his story and his journey to get where he is today with many players I have contact with who may not think their time is coming. Zaire Anderson being one of those guys who was in a similar situation last year where he felt like he should be on the active roster.
When he first arrived on the PS they stuck him with #98 too. (Odd # for a LB although a few have worn it at LB) He wasn't too excited about wearing a 90's number. At that time #54 was open, I told him he better grab that.. He was a bit nervous asking being the new guy, but he did so anyway. He got #54. When JD Walton was cut he thought about switching to #50. He sent me a text asking if he should grab #50. At first I thought it sounded like a good idea. #50 has been worn by C's for so long (Hamilton, Walton, etc) that a LB hadn't worn it in awhile.... Then I told him hell you made strides in the #54, it has been working for you. Don't change it.
It also seems like GB has been slipping the past few years in the draft. Their D has been full of high round busts and stop gaps gone bad.
BMarsh is firmly set in the #54!

Marshall is also the type of person/player you have no issues giving a big contract to. No off field issues and always gives 100%. Not a give me the money and quit on you guy.
As an organization you have to feel about as comfortable as you can giving someone like him the money.
