So Fulmer is chucking a NO-NO after 6 (Ya I said it) and the Tigers have 10 hits but only two runs......Don't ruin a fantastic pitching outing by letting the Halos stay in this game!!!!!!

Very possible that Pelfrey's and Sanchez's total of $24.8mil will be payed by the Tigers, in 2017, while both are pitching elsewhere. I'm guessing with some team's AAA club trying to get back to the majors.

Toledo Mud Hens 9, Louisville Bats 3 (box)

Shane Greene was sharp again in another rehab start for the Mud Hens, holding the Bats to one run on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out five and threw 78 pitches. Drake Britton allowed two runs in relief, but by then the Mud Hens had the game well in hand. Preston Guilmet earned the win with two shutout innings of work. Offensively, Casey McGehee led the way with three hits and five RBI. Chad Huffman and Steven Moya both homered for Toledo.

A little more negativity. (I am preparing for a bullpen meltdown)

Tiger's bench batting averages: .120, .150, .150. You fill in the names. It really does not matter.

Ya, It would be Tigeresque if they blow this game..... Zika Virus Rodriquez to close it out........He's got to get by Trout to win it.
Fulmer'd prolly be going for a no-no if it weren't for you.

I know I referred to the Angels having 10 less hits than us. As I hate to tempt fate...

Rodriguez tosses 30+ pitches to get the save, think Fulmer tossed that to get through the 4th inning....The last batter took 10 strait change ups at 80 mph.....My nephew can already do that with movement and still has one year left of High School.

Even when this teams wins it looks bad.....Congrats to Fulmer on a nicely pitched game.

If I recall, the projected rotation for this year was Zimmermann, Verlander, Sanchez, Pelfrey, and Norris.

It is very possible that in a few weeks it could be Zimmermann, Verlander, Fulmer, Boyd, and Greene. With Sanchez and Pelfrey in the pen (if that) and Norris in a holding pattern at Toledo. Bad luck or poor planning...or some of both?

Now, about Justin Upton.....:)

I think many of us said back in spring that the one thing that could move the Tigers rotation from bad to at least acceptable was a healthy and improved season from Sanchez. Unfortunately, Anibal is still reeling as he was last year. None of us had any faith in Pelfrey being much help -- there's your "poor planning", if you will.

Toledo Mud Hens 8, Louisville Bats 3 (box)

Daniel Norris received plenty of run support, including a 2-0 lead before he even took the mound, in a blowout win over the Bats. Norris did his part to earn his third win of the season, scattering 10 hits over 6 1/3 innings while striking out nine. Steven Moya and Dixon Machado paced the Mud Hens' offensive attack with a home run apiece, Moya's being his 12th of the season. Catcher John Hicks added three hits, including a pair of doubles. Blaine Hardy retired all four batters he faced, lowering his minor league ERA to 1.00.

Machado: 3-5, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB
Hicks: 3-5, 2 2B, 2 R, RBI, SO
Moya: 2-4, HR, R, 2 RBI, 2 SO
Norris (W): 6.1 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, BB, 9 SO
Hardy: 1.1 IP, 0 ER, SO

A sure sign you've lost some movement on your pitches:

ANIBAL SANCHEZ' HOME RUNS ALLOWED:

2013 = 9
2014 = 4
2015 = 29 (led AL, despite making only 25 starts)
2016 = 14 (currently leads all of MLB)

Ausmus left Boyd in too long. It was obvious that he was not fooling the Yankee hitters the third time through the order. But with the type of pitching he has been getting out of the pen (sans KRod) I guess I could see keeping Boyd in.
