Here is another set:

Good - Walt Garrison catches the ball on the 2 or 3 yard and about to score the winning TD Ken Houston grabs him by the hips from behind (c'mon, he was a cowboy) and holds him out of the end zone.

Bad - Clint Longley and that nasty tasting turkey.

I know I used up mine already, but Green's hurdle/punt return @ Soldier Field in 87 and Rypien/Mitchell's fumble at the Stick in 92.

Best - Riggins Run
Best in person - Gary Clark vs Vikings
I screamed my bloody head off. Hoarse for a week!

Worst - swinging gate play. TWICE IN A ROW. AFTER the Giants called a timeout.

That was a low, low point.

Obviously nobody is a bigger Darrell Green fan than I am but I have never understood how he got credit for breaking up a pass that was clearly dropped before he got there.

I've never seen any of the good skins teams so probably either rg3s first game or the rg3 td run. Really thought we had something and would be set at qb. I was wrong.

Worst was probably him tearing his acl. That was one of my worst sports memories ever if not the worst.

I'm curious. If you are that new of a redskins fan, what made you choose a team that has struggled so much? Family ties? You live in the area?

I am going to answer from the old guy view point. I was 7 when my parents moved to Washington, I finally found them when I was 11 .... bastids!!! Stupid humor.

I was an Eagle fan because we were from Philadelphia but I switched to Redskins and Senators when we moved. It's not like I was giving up the Green Bay Packers. :pound:They stunk but they had Sonny, Charley and Bobby.

That's about the same way it happened with me. Atleast we have seen the good times multiple times. For the young or newer fans, they have only seen disfunction and failure, with a sprinkling of sucess. Given that, I'm always curious why they chose to be a fan of such a poor product over the lat 15 years or so.

Yep no doubt the team has been bad for a long time. Hopefully on the cusp of some good things.

Since I was there, I really couldn't have given a crap WHO got credit for the viking dropping the ball. On replay, it appeared as though Green disrupted the process of catching the ball, but that the receiver got his hands on the ball a split second before Green hit him.

I don't care. It was the single greatest sporting event I've seen live with THIS being a close second:

That was fucking AWESOME.

Live in pa surrounded by eagles fans unfortunately. But my mom is from VA and her side of the fam got me into it when I was young (don't think I realized they were bad at the time). I can't imagine ever rooting for another team but my dad's a giants fan so I could've easily had a more enjoyable football experience to this point lol. But oh well httr for life :suds:

O's have nothing to donwith the Redskins but that clip was awesome.

As for me when I was young I was a Baltimore Colts fan. Redskins weren't good and most of the kids rooted for others. Geaorge Allen change that and I switched over when I was 12. I was going to ask the question j had asked, what made a young fan pick a loser.

Didn't Portis run a 4.26 40 during 2006 training camp?

?? I stated that I don't know of a 50 yr old (on the planet) who had a 40 yd dash time faster than Green's 4.43. I was not referring to this being the fastest ever time for any Redskin. Maybe you are not questioning this but just stating that Portis ran this time, and yes he did. Amongst the fastest ever Redskins were Green, Portis, Bailey and Deion (yuck - hate to classify him as a Redskin).

Although it can't be confirmed it is believed that Green may have ran a sub 4.1 40 in his playing days. It is tough to verify anything like this due to the methods of timing. However - it is possible since he was a world class sprinter who beat the likes of Carl Lewis in his younger days.

In the 60s when I moved here both the Orioles and Colts were good. My neighbors and friends all rooted for Baltimore although we lived a stones throw from DC. They would tell me they were MD's team. I was a Redskin and Senator fan after moving here. Baltimore hated DC, I applied the same logic and still do. Too each their own. :suds:

Good memory: the Redskins clobbering the Broncos in SB XXII

Bad memory: LT sacks Theismann

Yeah at the time I was too young to understand the entire Baltimore/Washington thing. But I've been well aware for a while and have been using your reasoning to hate the Ravens.

Darryl Grant's pick 6 that sealed the 1983 NFCCG for the Skins against the Boys, 31-17.

I can't go w/o mentioning the 2nd quarter against the Broncos in the SB though. 5 possessions/35 points scored, the greatest sidplay of offensive football ever seen in a title game. That was glorious. As was DG's TD that sealed the win against the Boys.
