here is what i think needs to happen

our defense for the last few seasons have been ranked 18 or higher last year being 28 this year we need to be at 15 or lower or else we cant off set the tougher schedule

we need better tackling period . we have to limit missed tackles turning into big plays and 1st downs

the defense needs to get us in better field position to get some quick scores we did ok in Forced fumbles and recoveries but that stat changes drastically but we picked off only 11 passes. in a passing league we need more we were tied for 14th in sacks so hopefully gallette can boost that number

special teams . the kicking game needs to stay close to the same and coverage could be better with better tackling . we need better blocking in the return game because we need better field position

on offense we have to figure out how we are going to use all of our passing weapons and make it cohesive

in the running game we need to trim down the different types of plays and get 4-5 good ones jones runs well. our rbs need to learn some patience and set up blocks . ball security is key

KC needs to improve on his overall generalship in the game and limit his mistakes while maximizing opportunities for his play makers to make plays . forget the contract just hit the open guys , make the proper reads and stay within yourself .

the most important is to stay healthy . we have depth in some places but in others we are hurting

time management improved last year but its still a huge issue

Wouldn't it be real nice if they developed a go to play in the running game? Counter trey anyone??

I think you have hit on most of them Dad, the tackling and up until recently the lack of takeaways has been a real problem. As has special teams. I'll throw in limiting penalties. Way too many lately. This team is simply not good enough to overcome a penalty that turned a completion for a first down into 2nd and 17.

Redskins just need to win more games then the rest of division. Seriously, all the above mentions are obvious things that have to happen for them to have a good season, but one other thng that was vital in their success last year was sustained drives of 7 minutes plus. They control they clock they control their season.

With the additions of Galette and Norman the defense should be a hell of a lot better. We have the most dangerous offense in the division. No one has the WR and TE depth like we have in the division.

What about Shawn Lauvao? I wonder how well he'll play this season? Or whether we'll see someone like Kojo play? If we don't have a running game -- and can't stop our opponents' running game -- that will prove really difficult.

I think you can argue Dallas with a healthy Romo has a better all around offense.

So Williams, Beasley, and Witten are better than Garcon, Crowder, Doctson, and Reed? I don't think so. They have the better running game but we have the better passing game.

I said the entire offense which includes OL, RB, and QB. And of course you left out Dez who is better than anyone we have

I just cancelled out jax and Dez. We should be able to score with anybody this year.

I agree our offense looks good but when you examine each unit, again with Romo healthy, they have a big edge at QB and OL, and probably RB. Both teams have unproven backs but clearly Dallas has more upside. TE is pretty close, Whitten has been one of the best all around TEs of his generation but Reed gets a very slight edge right now, and WR is an edge to Washington. Dez is a slight lean over Djax IMO, we win the rest of the WRs

KC played better over the last 10 games than Romo has ever played.

They should get the nod in RB.

OL is a push. They win at run blocking, we win at pass blocking.

TE is in our favor big time.

WR I push. Like you said, Dez is a better one but we have a far superior unit.

As you said Witten "has been" one of the best all around TEs. However - he is now 34 & is slowing down a bit. In the receiving area at this time Reed is much better. The "healthy Romo" aspect is also a big question mark. If healthy Dallas is likely a better offense due to their superior line and running game, but in the receiving area the Redskins should be able to compete with just about anyone assuming health & also assuming that Cousins doesn't rediscover old bad habits.

I agree Witten has slowed which is why I gave Reed a slight edge. But don't forget blocking is also a big part of the job description and right now even at his age Witten is still a much better blocker and he doesn't get a penalty a game called on him either. As for Romo and Kirk comparison Kirk played great for 10 games, Romo has played great for 10 years. Let's not pretend the jury is not still out on Cousins. Romo has put up amazing numbers over the years, there is no doubt in my mind I can find a 10 game streak as good or better than Kirk's.

Like I said this assumes that Cousins doesn't rediscover old bad habits. His major flaw in the past was obviously turnovers. If he keeps those to a minimum (not as low as the last 10 games but reasonable) he should be fine. As for Romo - again - agree that he is better but that is assuming good health for him which is nowhere near a given especially with back problems.

Oh yeah, totally agree. We have the best QB situation in the division moving forward but it's still unproven if it's going to be good enough.

Agree & this year will also go a long way in determining whether Gruden is the long term answer at coach. Unlike Dallas I don't think that the Redskins need to be a major playoff contender for this team to be considered a success since this team appears more geared towards the long term.

Do it...show me a ten game stretch in Romo's career that marched KC.
