Yeah, awesome. Such a GREAT series. I will totally remember the great play and not the crushing end result.

But hey, it's nice to see a team like the Pens who nothing good ever happens to finally win one. The Caps have had enough success. Somebody else's turn now.

Normally I'd be like "1 Cup in past 25 years", but...in this postseason that's like the max.

I want you Caps fans to k ow (even though you wont feel any better) that I love you guys. Seriously, you're great people and I want OV to get the Cup so badLy...just never at Pens expense. He deserves it. Caps need another solid dman and they're even better next year.

Also, PHIL FUCKING KESSEL is the man. He gets shit all the time, but what a game.

He had a great game. Thanks, Pix.

I know Pens were getting shit on a bit for the price they paid, after his regular season, but this is EXACTLY WHY we picked him up. Secondary scoring. Someone who can create on his own not named Crosby or Malkin. When was the last time we won a series that one of those two didn't take over? Just incredible.

For that matter the crap they took for trading Suter and getting Bonino back.

Elliotte Friedman was saying post-game that Pens fans wanted to run Jim Rutherford out of town last year at this time and since then he brought in guys like Kessel, Hagelin, and Bonino. Pretty good work by JR.

Sympathy cheers (even though I know you don't want it) to Ritari, Eloco, Apache and the other classy Caps fans. :suds: You guys are good fans. I won't trash talk tonight.

(Tomorrow, though, I am bumping an old convo between Eloco and I. The bump of all bumps. :thumb:)

Oh good, I'll look forward to that.

:eyeroll:

I never hated him last year, but I was deluded a bit because of the injuries in the playoffs...but holy crap he deserves praise for changing on the fly and committing to a style. The issue the Pens post-09 have had is no identity. Are they speed? Defensive? Physical? Pick one. Jimmy did, and brought in a coach who sold the idea, and the players bought it. He basically owned up to the Johnston mistake and flipped gears completely.

Hm. Seriously considering some cheap flights down to Tampa. That could be fun. Or maybe a camping trip to Western PA? Any good camping on the way from either Syracuse or Buffalo?

Eh, I didn't. The only trade I didn't like was Despres for Lovejoy. I liked everything else he did, even if they didn't work out. His other glaring mistake was hiring Johnston, but he fixed that. Can't blame Rutherford for the playoff performance, Pens were missing 5 of top 6 D? Something crazy like that.

On the other hand, picking up Kessel at a discount, Hagelin for Perron, Daley for Scuderi, and hiring Sullivan have been home runs. If Rutherford can trade away Kunitz in the offseason, he'll be in my good books for a while. (Lovejoy too please.)
