Dude
Gray has thrown 65 pitches in two innings. Tigers only have two hits off him. Partly because he is missing badly on a lot of pitches. I suspect this game will be decided by the bullpens however.
Iffy's Three Stars of the Game:*
1. JD Martinez (3 run bomb)
2. Victor Martinez (ditto)
3. Justin Verlander (quality start, I guess)
*Brought to you (again) by: J-UP's Can-O-Air.....sold to all struggling .195 hitters, with MLB leading K totals.
The diving, sliding pathetic attemp to make a single into a double, didn't impress me either.Upton 0-5 tonight.. This guy is supposed to be good huh.. On the bright side, Miggys BA most likely went up

Shane Greene will miss at least two starts. The Detroit Tigers are committed to top prospect Michael Fulmer for at least one.
Fulmer is 1-1 with a 4.11 ERA and a 1.370 WHIP in three starts at Toledo this season. Those are his only three starts above the Double-A level.
Back on April 12, Upton went 4 for 5 with a homer and two RBI.
Take away that game and he is batting .155 with no homeruns, 2 RBI, and 5 runs scored on the season (and 34 Ks). Real hard to justify this guy being in your lineup every day.
Yes it would be nice to see these guys contribute this season. It is a long season so I am sure all of them will get some starts. I would not give up on Sanchez he has too much talent and Greene is still young.Fulmer, Norris, and Boyd. I imagine Detroit will find out if any of those three can become part of the rotation in the next few of months. It is still early, but it appears that only Zimmermann, and to a lesser degree, Verlander, can be counted on. I am sure Sanchez, Pelfrey, and Greene will get more time to turn it around.....but it will be interesting to see which of those last three gets pushed aside for a younger choice.
