Surprised they scored a run on 3 hits, but I see my boy Nicholas homered

Might help this team to have a day off after the last 4 games, they are a mess at the plate

Didn't get win #10 last year until May 5.
It may have worked out okay last year, but I wouldn't bet on that happening again. Last year turned into a great story, but in all likelihood if that same scenario happened again to start a season I wouldn't count on it working out very often at all.

Injuries starting to pile up and cant hit or score runs, so it could be a long season, but we shall wait and see. I don't see last year happening again if we don't get better scoring runs

The Astros and the rest of the AL West being garbage did more for that. Texas would have finished third if the Angels and Astros played league average ball down the stretch.

Seattle worries me more this year than the Angels and Astros, but all of them may come into play this year too

I am ready to put the Prince trade in the no brainer fucking awful decision column for JD. He hasn't had a lot of them, but he really picked his spots. I don't even remember why Kinsler was so disliked anymore...how did we think his contract was that bad? Were we dumb?

At the time Profar was healthy and it was what do we do with Andrus, Kinsler and Profar. Well Andrus was signed to a contract no one would take so it really came down to Kinsler and Profar. There was some talk of Kinsler going to 1st which I am not sure if Kinsler was against it or that is speculation but in retrospect we would have been better off. I don't think JD was actively seeking to trade Kinsler but Detroit approached JD with trading Prince (sort of gives us a 1st baseman) for Kinsler which now gave Profar a spot plus Detroit gave us some money. It kind of made sense at the time but with Choo and Prince I was thinking to myself two things, they could be good moves or we have just done what we ridiculed the Angels doing so many times. But it does look like a really bad trade now that everything has played out. That is my take on it.

What is going on with Zach Greinke. He has been terrible. Gave up 7 runs in little over 6 innings but got the win. Has an ERA of 6.16.

I don't think the Kinsler contract was a good one for us, but I certainly didn't think we should trade that contract for a worse one. I think the trade would have never happened had JD gone after Abreu a little harder. We were in a two team battle for Abreu and JD backed off when Chicago offered him what they did. That was the beginning of a disappointing offseason that year. I always thought Kinsler should have been traded for prospects with us paying part of his contract.

I was against the trade when it happened, but when I found out that scouts were saying his bat speed had slipped the year before then I was really against it. If a scout realized that then surely the Rangers knew that. If they didn't know it then that is pretty bad too.

After last night's game we have slipped to 11th in the league in slugging. Only Boston has hit fewer HRs in the AL.
