In case you were wondering, the number of Tigers fans posting on the Yankees board is zero.

Now, if you'll please excuse me, I'm about to spill some DNA on my keyboard over Shane F Greene.
An equal amount to what you spilled about yan gomes?

I never said that I wouldn't be surprised if Yan Gomes was one of the best catchers in the game in 2016, I've just questioned your opinion that he's "a bum."

You, on the other hand, said you wouldn't be surprised if Greene was a top pitcher.

One is massive homer shit, the other's not.

Since interleague play expanded the list has grown considerably.

Anibal Sanchez had about a 3.70 ERA as a NL pitcher. His first two full seasons in the AL, he posted ERAs of 2.57 and 3.43. It can certainly happen, especially for a pitcher in his prime years.

Nice try, asshat.

I actually use it as the wallpaper on my desktop, laptop, iPhone and iPad. I'm a huge Tigers fan.
Would you rather look at verlanders dick or yan gomes?

You'll be happy to know that we're all likely to just take your word for that because I'm sure if anyone had the time and inclination to look it up, you'd be wrong.

Speaking of Sanchez, looks like Ausmus could change his mind on that April 11 start. This would help with the #5/Norris situation, and sets up Zimmermann to start the home opener.

Nice discussion gentlemen. Good reading this morning. You too, Vice. :)

Could I add one remark for Mr. Vice? Triple A is not the major leagues. Having gaudy numbers there means little. If AAA was the major leagues, Steve Bilko would be in the Hall of Fame. In short Boyd's minor league stats indicate nothing other than he pitched well against lesser competition. Just my opinion.

Especially given that he's only thrown 41 innings above Double-A, albiet at a 2.77 ERA. Hence my apprehension about his abilities to get MLB hitters out right now. I do hope to be wrong, of course.

I agree with the person who said, "Sanchez scares the crap out of me". I think watching his starts will be similar to watching NASCAR...when is there going to be the big wreck?

Here are my completely unscientific, Tiger-homer-hopeful projections for the starters.

Verlander = 215 IP, 77 ER, 3.22 ERA
Zimmermann = 195 IP, 78 ER, 3.60 ERA
Sanchez = 160 IP, 72 ER, 4.05 ERA
Pelfrey = 170 IP, 87 ER, 4.60 ERA
Boyd/Greene/Norris = 200 IP, 106 ER, 4.77 ERA*

*Should be lower if Norris gets the bulk of the starts from this group.

Comes out to 420 runs in 940 IP, for a composite ERA of 4.02. I can live with that.

I love the disclaimer at the beginning ... If I were going to state my unscientific numbers, everybody's ERA would be under 3 ... but that me and I am a shameless homer!!!

I never post anything of quality for the guy who left the thread but I will say again Greene will fill the holes better than the guys who left the holes...

Id be no more surprised at Greene doing well than I would be if Sanchez followed DN to the DL by May.

I believe each team, on average, gets around 30 starts out of their 6,7,8,9,etc guys each year. (Is forced to get...)I'll consider Greene our #4 withPelfry #5. Will Farmer, or Norris shine as one of those 6+ guys? We'd better hope so. But I'm not planning on it.

Depth, quality and durability of our starting pitching is definitely high on my list of concerns. Has been all offseason tbh.
