Yeah inside nickel package seems like a spot he might fit into besides "just" being a ST player. As noted above I don't know why anyone would think a good ST player was bad since we were so bad at Teams for so long. Last year was much better but we did have to replace a couple of the guys that excelled there but are now gone.

Not very good in run support. Most situations they threw him into at OLB was 3rd & long, passing situations. Like I said, he's good in space & pass coverage. It was sort of PIT's "big-nickel" package that the DC Butler played with. I don't think that I recall him ever blitzing off the edge.

That's cool. I'm sure the Skins can find a place for him somewhere on defense. And they they may as well see if he can rush the passer.

Don't know if gkekoa is being serious, but I was thinking it couldn't hurt to try him at safety, he'd have tremendous size at that position. Plus the Skins need to upgrade at both S positions.

We need to find a couple of starting caliber ILB's. Thinking we can improve our defense with Compton & Foster is seriously a scary thought. The adage of remaining financially frugal with your money only goes so far. Granted, it takes multiple drafts to fill spots, you have to nab a top tier FA for a spot here and there along with draft picks to improve your defense. I can't think of 1 signing that has jumped out at me that says we have definitely improved on defense other than maybe JG and he is damaged goods. Starting to wrap my head around the 5 year plan now.

i am not worried about compton or foster even if we have to stop gap them for a year . we could draft an ILB as well . we are letting the free agent market play out and i think we will get some solid starters at solid prices . patience is needed

Agreed. Too much is being implied when it comes to Compton and Mason. There's a reason why they were retained and multiple DL were not. I'm not saying they're studs or all pro caliber players, but I saw enough from them to believe with a good interior line in front of them. They will be very capable.

And Compton's value to the Skins is high ast he can play both ILB positions.

A season ending concussion 9 plays into the season eh. Hmmmm. That said, I don't wanna get too excited, but I'm liking the way our OLB corp and STs seem to be shaping up. RK is geeked to have Galette on the opposite side of and if Galette lives up to half the shit is says, he should have a pretty big year.

I think I'm gonna do something this year that I haven't done in quite some time as a Redskin fan. Have an expextation of forcing turn overs both on defense and ST.

I don't need to re-watch the game skinz. I know what happened and you are referring to ONE game instead of all the games both Compton and Foster started. Small sample size. They are stars but it wasn't all on them either. If you did not notice the LBs and SS hitting the wrong holes prior to both of them starting their isn't much I can say. I know I noted it on more than one occasion while watching the games.

foster had 8 tackles and 2 for loss . vs green bay . i dont think you can pin that on him
