I actually tweeted Elway during that draft for him to please pick anybody else than that of Osweiler. Obviously he did not listen.

I should say also that I do appreciate Osweiler being here. I don't view the pick as a wasted pick even with him moving on. He was part of helping us win a Super Bowl this year and for that I will forever be grateful. He also did an incredible job of not becoming a distraction after being benched. A lesser man would have torn that locker room apart. So cheers to you Osweiler and your new adventure in Houston. I do wish you well except when you play the Broncos.

I never hated on Oz, although I wasn't a fan of a guy with 14 starts. I hated on the pick. If that makes sense.

2016 draft , Broncos on the clock 2nd round , elway says to himself I can select a guy who will be instrumental in our team getting home field advantage , beating our top two opponents along the way , and a subsequent super bowl victory probably due to HfA , will become a highly sought after free agent 4 yEars from now we might not be able to afford so Ill pass

What is there to hate about a pick like that ?

Pick made sense... Nobody knew how Manning would be at that point. Remember all the stories of how Brock might be the 3rd and long QB his rookie year or how Manning might just be the red zone QB... They had to have a backup plan. And it did help them win a SB.
