I have a 2009 Honda Accord. The dealer says I need a head gasket. How much should that cost? Their prices seem high.

Gasket itself... maybe 50 bucks on JCwhitney or something. up to a grand for labor I bet. And that's if they don't find anything else in there (cylinder heads, cooling system...)
I'm going with Rock's answer. A grand might be a little light. Sure to find something else that needs to be fixed.
'09 needing a head gasket, seems odd, how many miles on the car.
is there water in the oil or oil in the water?? is it making some kind of sound??
Yup, sounds at startup that go away, white smoke, and the oil overfilling on it's own are good signs..
2009 Honda Accord with 72,000 miles on it, 4 cylinder..I'm going with Rock's answer. A grand might be a little light. Sure to find something else that needs to be fixed.

My problem is that I keep having to add coolant/water to the radiator, it just disappears!! There are no leaks on the ground. The dealer says it's a cracked cylinder head now. 2500 dollars!! I've always done all the proper maintenance. I don't understand why my car needs all this work??
That sucks then.
Have never ever heard of a head gasket problem with a Honda.
