I do have an issue with Verlander not showing up on the list... His career war is basically identical to Lolich's and he will clearly pass that up this year. If they are just going off WAR 100% I get it... but when its all said and done.. Lolich and Verlander are in different leagues.. and Verlander is in the better one.

I don't think there are more than 5-6 lefties better than Lolich that aren't in the Hall. Couldn't tell you how many righties there are better than JV. But it's a helluva lot.

Horrible. Had a lot of friends who were way to close to a lot of that last night.

Only one of the shooting locations is an area where you assume some violence will find you. Scary shit man.

I know this has been brought up before...but I was pondering the Mike Pelfrey signing again. I can see a one year deal...even for $8mil....but that is the top! The guy has not had a good year since 2010. Is there anyone out there that can read his peripheral stats in a way that makes him appear worth a two year/$16mil deal? Detroit's bigger park is not the cure-all he needs...so what is it the Tigers see in him? Is he unmarried and willing to marry a particularly homely niece or granddaughter in the Illitch clan? What?

Scouts and coaches see things differently than us. Maybe they see someone who can prosper under the Tiger's system. $16 million is a lot of cash to spend on a less than average pitcher. I trust in the fact that the experts know I little more than me. Regardless of anything, he is a Tiger and will have my support until he has lost it as a Tiger. Spring is upon us and we have a team that can compete on a very high level ... I'll save any negative views until they are warranted.

Worst "homer" I ever saw. You couldn't criticize even the worst player on the roster or an unbelievably stupid coaching decision. It all had to be flowers and rainbows, or he argued with you.

Yeah, the Twins paid Ricky Nolasco $52 million over four years to suck, so at least the Tigers are only paying $16 mill for Pelfrey to do the same. His only redeeming quality is he doesn't serve up a lot of home runs, but he puts so many guys on base, that benefit is negated. He is capable of logging a lot of innings, but he's knocked out in the 3rd or 4th so much, that benefit is also negated.

With all due respect to Victor, and he makes a lot of valid points, everything starts with pitching, and I simply don't see the rotation being as strong as Verlander-Scherzer-Sanchez-Fister-Porcello. Thus, I disagree with his "best team in years" assessment.
