cmon, socal. The body is different, but the head of the snake is still attached. It Snyder that people don't yet trust. That's why you see some say that they expect the skins to fuck it up. Because we have been trained to believe that snyder still is behind the curtain pulling levers and mucking every thing up. This may be unrational as he might have taken a step back, but 15 years of bone headed mismanagement from the top doesn't get erased easily. Its human nature.I have answered this before & will here. Let's compare this to 2012/2013. Big difference at this time.
The 2012 team was primarily based on RG3. He ended his season w/ a major injury & there were doubts about whether he could rebound quickly enough to start the 2013 season. He was also operating under a gimmick offense & several folks had their doubts whether it was sustainable (turns out they were correct). Beyond that you had question marks across the board on both offense and defense for that team.
The Redskins were also looking at having no # 1 picks for the following 2 seasons due to the RG3 trade, and they had numerous holes to fill. Their GM/personnel role was primarily being performed by Shanahan & history shows that the dual coach/GM role rarely works. Bottom line - the Redskins achieved their success mainly through smoke & mirrors & were looking at huge question marks moving forward. Ultimately it all came crashing down.
Compare that to the current time. They have a separate coach & GM & their GM is very highly respected & just about everything that he has done to date with the Redskins has worked out pretty well (no guarantee I realize). They also have finally started to put together the makings of a very good O line. They have youth in just about all areas and are actually developing talent and depth across the board. They have just about all of their draft picks moving forward & have already shown that they advocate the sensible approach towards free agency.
Again - this is no guarantee, but if you can't see the difference between this offseason and the ones in 2013 & the other years then I don't know what to tell you.
