GOAT quarterbacks!

It is great to see he is speaking from the heart and an honest person!

Tom Brady says he's not one of the all-time great QBs

Tom Brady took part in Super Bowl 50's pregame ceremony announcing every Super Bowl MVP in NFL history. The New England Patriots quarterback was booed during the display -- by a heavy Denver audience -- and in a pregame interview with Jim Gray of Westwood One Radio said he doesn't consider himself one of the NFL's all-time great QBs.

That is a helluva question and I wouldn't put myself in there," Brady said, via ESPN.com. "I think there are some incredible players that have played the position and a lot of guys do things differently to get the job done. You see different styles, different techniques."

Oh, Mother of Mercy. Brady has it all. Good looks, a beautiful family, a rocket arm, a wicked smile, a bajillionty dollars AND HUMILITY. See, world, you can have it all and still be humble.

At this point, Brady is clearly an angel sent form heaven to bless us with his presence. Either that, or he's a devil's minion snuggling up to our soft side before he turns and breathes fire unto the planet, engulfing us all. (Your opinion will be based on how you perceive angels, devils, cleft chins and the New England Patriots).

OK, Tom, so who would you consider THE all-time great?

"When you look at me being a fan of Joe Montana; nobody ever did it better than Joe Montana," the California native said. "In a way, he was like the Michael Jordan of football. The style and the grace and the beauty of what Joe's style was, it never looked hard for Joe."

Eh, if you want to be considered one of the all time great QBs, at some point in your mid to late 30s you have to state that you're not one of the all time greats.

Well played Brady.... well played.

This is probably a thank you to Montana for saying that everyone cheats until they get caught last year when talking about his Niners.

By Pats fans' own qualifications, Tom Brady is far from great.

And they hate that.

This guy is all class. He doesn't taunt his opposition with that stupid "discount double-check" BS, either. All that said, he and Montana are the ONLY 2 in the convo for best ever.

Yeah. That made me laugh, too! Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf are known for their "rocket arms"; not Brady. Brady is just known for winning.

Brady is the best example of just how easy it is to be a QB in this league now. Snap the ball, toss the ball 3 or 4 yards ahead to a fast or physical player and watch him gain the yards for you! Nah. Who needs to throw the ball down the field right? :dhd:

Well...that's partly true. Almost all offenses use short passes/screens etc... more than ever now. And a lot of that has replaced parts of the run game. But it's all about exploiting matchups and finding the open guy. It isn't "easy" though, or every QB would be good. We know that is not the case.

As a Pats fan, I don't want to see Brady trying to throw deep. There is more chance of an INT that way and they don't have a good deep threat anyway. Risk/reward.

Of course it's not easy, it's the NFL. You have 6'5, 300+ pounders coming at you, plus 260 pounders coming off the edge who are arguably the best athletes on the field. QB is the hardest position to play in sports. Brady mastered the art of getting rid of the ball before the rush gets there. But I think it's clear to see that it's a QB friendly system, and you can plug and play with it. They won't put up Brady like numbers, but it will still be good numbers.

Bledsoe, Tebow, Hoyer, Garoppolo, Mallet. That was easy. :noidea: Not really debatable. And those are all just QB's he's played with.

I'll take it.

So by your own admission Tom Brady isn't a fundamental QB. You might even say his skills are severely eroded and a liability for the team. Personally, I just make it easy and say he's atrocious.

Maybe so. But if I could have plugged Brady into Montana's role with the 49ers, I think he would have been OK there, too. Don't hate Brady for succeeding in a good system. Instead, wonder why your team isn't able to emulate the same success.
