Wow. I was impressed when he thanked the media at the end. The guy is a total class act we are lucky to have him. I believe SM will get a long term deal done with him. Everyone is probably going to say we overpaid for him but I have no problem in investing into this guy. He sounds like an winner and in his first year of starting he already set franchise records.

Kirk has shown alot of the tendencies you hear mentioned when people talk about franchise QB's. Is he there yet?? NO. But I think he is closer than we have come to finding one in a long time, and this team would be stupid to NOT lock him up long term at this point.

He needs to learn how to move in the pocket and extend plays. Rodgers is great at doing that and Kirk should work on that this offseason.

I kind of look at it like this

First 4-6 games was basically his preseason work as a starter. Because he spent most of the off season working with the 2's and 3's.

Give him a full off season, and I think he will be a solid QB from start to finish.

NO doubt. With all of his weapons coming back and the center position being upgraded, KC should be a top 10 QB next year. Plus if we get a running game he will really be dangerous. Everyone forgets that KC did this with no running game to speak of. Very tough for a young QB.

Also - remember that this O line will basically have a year of being together as a unit (for the most part). That is real asset. Hopefully Lauvao contributes next season - sounds like he has been through quite a bit in surgery.

i think we will have a running game next season with a year together under thier belts on the o/line and jones having an extra year as well thompson should be ok too
