Since we're stuck with this blessed and cursed bye week, it's causing me to think about this past regular season. It's been up and down, drama-filled and exciting all at the same time. I love the position that the Broncos are in heading into the 2nd season.

I'm wondering who everyone sees as the players that had the greatest positive impact on the team this year. A very tough call for sure but here's my stab at it:

Offense: Emmanuel Sanders - he certainly hasn't been perfect but he has personified toughness and a penchant for making the big plays all year long. Runner up: Paradis or Hillman. I know these won't be popular choices but I've been impressed with their play in many games this year.

Defense: Malik Jackson - I know that leaves off a ton of playmakers on this side of the ball but this guy has been a monster this year. Runner up: Wolfe or Brandon Marshall - studs. Can you tell that I really appreciate the guys that don't always get the national media spotlight?

I can only imagine that there are going to be many different choices among our fans on the Hoop but give it a shot!

Offensively, I will agree on E. Sanders (after the defense of course, lol).

Defense, that's a toughy. Even though he missed four games, I'm going to have to go with Derek Wolfe. But Malik and B. Marsh II have both been impressive too. So have Von and Ware. And so on and so on....

Offense : I'm going to say Oz, as he came into an extremely tough situation midway thru the year and began his career with leadership, poise and fearlessness ... I have seen enough to say that he has earned the job of Denver Bronco QB in the future .. Not to mention that the guy has some zip on his passes, to say the least ..

Defense : Danny Trevathan - after multiple surgeries on the same knee, he has returned as strong and productive as ever ... He has played at a high level all year - very consistant .. Coming back and playing this well is quite an accomplishment ..

Well Von Miller is the only Bronco to make the 1st Team All-Pro list

We have the top defense in the league and only him and Chris Harris even made it on the 1st or 2nd team. Seems something wrong with that.

Although I guess you could say that what made our defense so great this year was that we didn't really have a weakness. It wasn't that we had a ton of All-Pro guys everywhere that could cover up for the weaknesses but it was that we had 11 guys (plus some very nice back ups) that all learned how to play well together being able to stop pretty much any offense thrown at them.

As for the Question--

Offense--I will go Matt Paradis. He is the only player on offense to play every single snap. He also graded out as our best OL player for the year and over the final 3-5 weeks he actually graded out as the top Center in all of football. Possible guy we can build our OL around.

Defense--Now this one is much tougher for me. I'll go Brandon Marshall though. Week in and week out he has been that consistent guy that just rarely is out of place and helps out all over the field. All of this on a foot that is being held together with a broken screw. The fact that both of our ILB's held up after very serious injuries last year and performed like they did is incredible!

Offense - Emmanuel Sanders - provided so many clutch third down conversions in the first half of the season. Tough guy that I think gets the crowd and his teammates fired up.

Runner up - Osweiler. The two wins vs Pats and Bengals are the reason we have the #1 seed. But too hard to give the MVP award to a guy who played 7 games.
Third - Schoefield. Without a doubt his terrible play required everyone else to play harder to make up for him. :gaah:

Defense - Brandon Trevathan - no, not a typo. Between Marshall and Trevathan not much gets past them when they are both playing. They can run and tackle, most important when they are slightly undersized for their position.

Runner up in the same vein could be Malik Wolfe - two guys who combined to make it possible for Brandon Trevathan to have over 100 tackles each. A great year for both guys playing for their jobs - and new contracts.

At the beginning of the season, I would have said that the odds of Trevathan playing in all 16 games were about as good as Manning filling in at punter

His return and ability to stay on the field has been pretty miraculous

This is a great question - I think Crash came in with the best answer already
