I think it's clear enough now to where we can make our own judgment.

B1G beat PAC 12 Nebraska and Wisconsin
B1G beat SEC Michigan
B1G Ohio State beat Notre Dame, Central Michigan,

PAC 12 beat B1G Stanford
PAC 12 beat BYU, New Mexico, Miami FL, Southern Miss, Air Force,

SEC beat B1G Alabama, Tennessee
SEC beat Texas Tech, Memphis, NC State,

Of those three, at this point it is
1. PAC 12,
2. SEC,
3. B1G but the B1G played at least two or more teams from each of the other two

4. ACC
5. Big 12

somewhat incomplete.

Plus, it's really hard to gauge: No conference is really dominant this year. Each has their good team (granted to different levels) but the rest? A lot of meh.

As for the Big12, it's obvious to me that without injuries and if all were healthy, Baylor and Tcu would have most likely been the best, with OU next.

Baylor, with a third string QB and without their AA wide receiver, destroyed the #10 team in the country (ACC).

Tcu wont have their starting QB or AA receiver for the Alamo bowl; Oky St plays Ole Miss yet.

I really cant pick from SEC or B1G, and they seem to me to be the two top. But in the SEC, it's really Alabama. And in the B1G, tOSU is really the most talented team.

Ranking the top B1G teams, I think it is: OSU, MSU, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, NW, Penn State, Nebraska
Ranking the top PAC teams, I get: Stanford, Oregon, USC, Utah, WSU, UCLA

So the B1G-PAC results are:

PAC #1 beats B1G #5
B1G #3 beats PAC #3
B1G #8 beats PAC #6

I guess I don't see how the bowls suggest the PAC is better than the B1G. As Nebraska and Minnesota proved, even weak B1G teams would beat the cupcakes the rest of the PAC played.

PAC 12 obviously beats each other up. A 2 loss champion proves that. Strongest conference for sure. :D

Seems to me that we have to define what we mean by "best conference" before addressing this question.

I used to think that it made best sense to simply look at which conference produces the most NFL players. By that criteria, the SEC is the clear winner. Given that the SEC seemed to not have many good teams this year, however, I'm not so sure that that is the right criteria.

Nice attempt and revisionist history. Iowa dominated your conference. They are hardly #5 at 12-1. But if it helps you sleep better after this utter and total domination then by all means don't let me burst your bubble.

This guy is funny. I love all of his material. He would make an awesome sports comedian.

The bold is false. That's the ACC. the ACC even had the most 1st round draft picks last year. The ACC has the athletes. They just lack the coaching. I mean come on. Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Clemson, Florida State, Miami. Those 6 alone produce more NFL talent than most of the other schools around the country do.

These are college kids playing at the college level. Each team can be vastly different week to week, more or less trying to gauge whole conferences based on small numbers of games between them.

There is no conference better than others BS. At most you can say which one did better at a given time, but that doesn't make them overall better than the others.

We do not get to see enough games between any two conferences to judge as a whole and never have.

Stanford is obviously playing out of their minds today, but they have had flat games as well. I'm sure Iowa isn't always this bad. It's just not their day. But the outcome of this one game doesn't tell you a fucking thing about whole conferences.

Best conference fodder is bullshit. It's all about how YOUR team does.

LSU has put the most NFL players in the leauge right now than any other school...

ergo, LSU is the best college football school in the universe right now !

For sure. If I was building an NFL team, I'd take from LSU, Alabama, and the ACC. I might hop over the PAC 12 to pick up a QB though.

Iowa beat one team ranked above them on my list (Us) in a game where they were outgained almost 3:2 and won because our QB tripped over his injured center on the 1 yard line and threw it down to an Iowa player.

The B1G schedules are horribly unbalanced. We went 13-3 the last two years playing no one good. We open next year with MSU, Michigan, OSU, Iowa, Nebraska, and NW. Record in a bubble doesn't mean much.
