Why do teams put stickers on their helmets?

That is dumb. What are those stickers supposed to do? Line players have a couple stickers while others have their helmet full. Looks low rent.

It's one of those things where if you haven't been doing them for 40-50 years or so, it would look really tacky to do it now.

I'll pick on Ohio State as an example. The Buckeyes' helmet is kick ass. It's unique --- definitely one of the best in all of college football. And it looks magnificent the first game of the season...........then they start plastering those damn stickers all over the place and it devolves into something Oregon wishes they had thought of first.

Never really understood it, but my teams never used them so I dont know the other side.

Am glad though that Texas does not put them on their helmets.
