What a horrible situation to have happen at a parade. Hope OSU comes out and beats KN by 50 to honor their own.

It's Kansas, so that was probably going to happen anyway, its not really an honor if they were going to do it anyway

Thanks for the compliments on the Vols and the state in general.

All these polls are a bunch of baloney to begin with really. Why on earth have a poll before the season starts? And how can a team, like say Florida State two years ago, come into the next season and not be ranked - if you're going to have a ranking - # 1 (since they went undefeated), until they lose is just beyond me.

SEC is down this year, not doubt about it. Part of the problem are my beloved Vols. But I don't want to get into that. ha ha ha

And you mention Auburn being rated highly. I personally thought they had a good, not great team. But they've completely spit-the-bit. But if you notice every year they'll be at least one, and sometimes two teams in the top 10 early on who are lucky to be in the top 25 at seasons end.

Curious.. Are you still mad because of 2011 World Series or just a Pujols hater? Because I don't see the Cards in the World Series either..

You must have been at the game.. October 24, 2011

Neither actually. And I was overseas in 2011 and didn't see a minute of the WS.

But I have a bunch of friends in Memphis who are huge Cardinal fans and one of them sent this pic in an email and I thought it was funny. No emotion attached to it for me at all.

Ahh OK. You missed one helluva WS. But thanks for your duty man. What Cards fans don't realize I guess is that 2011 WS is the last time they won. And they won't sniff another WS win for awhile either. Since Albert left, neither has won a WS title. As soon as Albert gets some pitching and a guy to hit behind him that won't smoke crack, the Angels will be there.

Cubs be loaded. Cards be worried

Hope he ends up okay and is able to come back next season.

Well, according to the article, it's a 6 month recovery time.

Wonder if he might consider going pro instead of coming back? Some of this may depend on what the freshman shows for the rest of the season I guess.

If I like 'em bad things happen. Rangers Cowboys and Baylor. Strange.
Baylor has a good Freshman back up but replacing Russell won't happen.

You got three weeks to get him ready for a steadily improving OU D line and secondary.

In this double standard of College Polls let's move Notre Dame up some more because of that great win over Temple last week who just gave up 40 points to 1 win SMU.

ND has always gotten more press and glory than they deserve. Always will too.

But in fairness to a pretty good Temple team, they just lost to the Irish the week before, and it was a close hard fought contest. So I feel pretty sure in saying they were down from the week before.

This was an undefeated squad before this who was avg giving up about 16 pts a game, and the most anyone had scored on them all season was 26 before last night.

My disdain is actually towards Alabama and their supposed #3 strength of schedule. Someone will need to explain that to me.

Unfortunately, I attended the Navy/Memphis game this past weekend. And I gotta tell ya, the Midshipmen took the Tigers out behind the woodshed and administered one royal spanking.

I felt going into the game Navy was probably better to begin with. But I didn't think they were this much better.

Memphis has a terrific QB in Paxton Lynch. But he picked a bad night to play well below what he's shown this season. And Memphis' defensive short comings were on grand display.

Oh well, now all I'm hoping for is a split with Houston & Temple, both away games, end the season at 10-2 and playing in a decent bowl game. This will be a fantastic season for them if they can pull this off too.

thanks my friend! And I hope you've gotten some relief/good news on the health front.

Not to be too greedy, but now if the Vols can run-the-table and finish at 8-4, along with my Memphis wish list, I'll be one happy guy. ha ha
