It's kinda weird that today is Back to the Future Day. Only the Cubs would have weird coincidences like that happen.

That's what I'm saying. I would much rather see the Cards or 90s Braves staff in a short series than the Mets. These Ps are all nasty with wipeout stuff. Glavine, Maddux , Neagle pitched more to contact. Smolts always seemed to be their best in the post season

Mets seems to be doing just fine. Just sayin'. I think they will beat the Royals too.

Maybe SMoltz was best in the postseason but the Braves only won it all once in like 13 tries.

I'm complimenting the Mets. I think u are misunderstanding me. If these guys are locked in they are gonna win. They are tougher to hit.

Yeah I missed your point, I thought you were saying you'd rather have the Cards or 90s Braves staffs. These Mets look a lot like the 2010 Giants to me. Kind of surprise playoff team, then beat everyone with their pitching.

CHICAGO -- New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes departed Wednesday's game 4 against the Chicago Cubs in the middle of the second inning with left shoulder soreness.

Cespedes had walked and struck out in two plate appearances before departing.

Juan Lagares replaced him in center field.

Cespedes is hitting .265 (9-for-34) with two homers and seven RBIs this postseason.

Smoltz was the best of the 3 in the post season no doubt but glavine pitched a shut out for their lone WS championship It takes more than pitching and right now the mets are killing the ball:suds:

I'm saying harder throwers with control usually are the ones that can dominate a post season. As good as Maddux and Glavine were, they never really dominated in October. Schilling, Johnson, Clemens, Pedro, Beckett, etc are more like the Mets pitchers

Maybe it takes more than pitching but if you had to pick the first thing you need to win in the postseason, it's pitching.

These Mets have taken over the mantle of young impressive starting staff from the Giants when we had Cain, Lincecum and Bum all on the top of their game. People were even raving about Jonathan Sanchez in those days. At least we still have Bum. Last year he proved that sometimes all you need is Bum. LOL.
