Just saw this on ESPN and never realized it.

No wonder it hurts so bad.

We're 2-4 and haven't even had a team kneel on it to end a game yet!! This seriously has to be some sort of record.

I said this somewhere else, the average loss is by 2.75 points. One more FG per game would have Nebraska 6-0, blame it all on Drew Brown.

We are 6-0 with little luck.
We are the most penalized team in the country.
Tommy has been average a best.
Injuries have killed us.

They just find new ways to lose these games. I said b4 we know it's going to happen, we just have to sit back and wait for it. Of course the games have another thing in common, bad defensive secondary play on final drives.

I remember a time not too long ago when I expected Nebraska to win every game and was excited for football Saturday to come around. If the Cornhuskers lost, it would ruin the rest of the weekend. Now, I think I have become numb to losing and I don't expect to win any game anymore. As soon as the game ended yesterday, I shut the TV off and left for dinner with the family not even giving the game another thought. Don't get me wrong, I will always bleed Husker red, it's just getting a little thinner. Hopefully these coaches and players will figure it out soon.

Yeah. The losses don't affect me so much this season. It sucks having to explain to my boy how great Nebraska football was for the 40 years before he was born.

I predict the sell-out streak to end under this staff. Probably at some point next season.
Gonna be a long 4 years unless Riley puts the program before friends. I don't expect he'll do that. This is his last gig, he gets paid whether he gets fired or not.
It's about taking care of his longtime loyal buddies for as long as he can. Which will be as long as Eichorst is around.

Not really.

The first few years of HWSNBN and Bopleeny there was hope that they'd get the pieces put together. 9 wins left hope that next year was gonna be the year.

I don't expect Riley to make changes in personnel. I think what we see is what we get for the next 4 years. Just hunkering down for it with very little emotion.

^^This.
Even when Bo was here, I still had high expectations for the first few years. Now I can't even defend my team when my Colorado friends flip me shit.

Last weeks clock management was a fiasco, unacceptable for an experienced staff. This week? Nothing wrong with the way he managed. he had to force him to use those timeouts and the only way to do that is run the ball. You have to get a first down though. Wisconsin's line was simply stronger than ours and held us. Not sure if you can put that on a first year coach or a legacy scrapbooker but I don't see it as a clock management issue this time.

I had no problem with the management.

What I didn't like was how on that last drive when we ABSOLUTLEY had to get pressure on yips boy, against a babycakes Offensive Line, our DL just went out there and went through the motions.

It was LOUD in there. Something tells me the coaches didn't get them motivated before that drive. Someone on that line needed to disrupt.

That was one thing about Bopper.

What was his record when leading in the 4th quarter? 65-3 or something like that?

He knew how to get the guys motivated to make plays when it mattered. He just never made adjustments and probably didn't know how.

That would be like every week for you, no?

You thought Nebraska was going to win this game. It was going to be the 'start of a run'.

Not grumpy at all. I'm hunkered down for a few more tough years. I was prepared for this the moment I heard Riley was hired. I had some semblance of hope in that he'd bring in a proven staff, but I didn't let those get too high. I was not surprised he'd give his longtime loyal staff the gravy. It's what coaches that put their personal lives over a program do.

Mark my words.... Riley will not fire Banker or anyone else for that matter. Eichorst will not fire Riley no matter how bad things get this year (nor should he), or next year, or the next. That would be admitting he made a mistake and AD's are generally too narcissistic for that.
Eichorst will have to be fired (ala Pederson) and the interim or new AD will have to do the dirty work.

This will be at least a 3 year event.
I expect a little improvement next season (1 or 2 wins) and that will be the Kool-Aid to give them year 3.

No extensions for anyone on this staff without a conference championship or play-off birth. Do not add $4+ million a year to the buy-out budget year after year like they did with HWSNBN and Bopleeny. The staff should have to earn what they're under contract to earn right now.
Save that money for a new staff.
