Don't be such a baby.

Just stop being a condescending twat and you should be fine....tho the Alt thing is out of my hands. Pretty much the only rule they really frown on here, besides nips and bush.

I like nips and bush.

If he plays 3 more seasons at a similar pace, he will have 10000 yds rushing and 5000 yds receiving.

There are only 4 other backs in the history of the game that have accomplished that.

Ya, a ring would help, but to say it's a joke, is a joke.

Yeah, to say its a joke,is a joke, but I really believe he ill never make it.

But then again,Bettis made it.And I never thought he'd make it either.

Bettis rushed for almost 14,000 yards. Two time all-pro. Far better resume than Forte, and he likely got in only because of the theatrics surrounding that SB win in his final season.

Forte could actually surpass Betts in rushing yards alone...... But I don't think Forte will make it myself either, but just because of a SB moment(if that's what it was) should not of gotten "the Bus" in either.
I always thought of him as over rated.....

What do you mean? Forte has played 8 seasons and posted 7,980 yards rushing. Even if he continued to put up yardage at that rate, he'd have to play another 7 years or so to reach 14,000 rush yards. He'd be 37. lol

And I agree, I don't know that Bettis should have got in. Borderline guy, and I don't think going out with a SB win is the reason he got voted in. However, I think that when he did, it made voters recognize the numbers he put up. He was never the best RB in the NFL, to my knowledge.

Forte will be 30 in Dec.....
He will be app.300 yds short of 9,000 by seasons end. Jerome has 13662 yds. That leaves app. Less than 5000 yds for Matt to surpass Jerome.

Can he do it?..... Sure can.

The question will be will be will Matt still be playing at the age of 34 to pass him.......

Do people here not get what a RB's life span is? He's at the end of his career... as in, right now. He probably has one or two years left. In his 20's, he put up 7500+ yards. I assure you, he will not put-up 6,000 more in his 30's. That's insanity. Sorry. Frank Gore is 32. That is, INSANELY old for a RB. Forte MAYBE could post 10,000... maybe. 14,000? That's absolutely insane. Zero chance. Sorry.

Forte is not Gore......

Maybe he can, maybe can not.

Only time will tell..... And the other factor being if his heart is still in it by then.

And he does not need 6000.......Where does that come from?
He will be less than 5000 by seasons end..... and at the ripe ol'age of just turning 30.

No one here knows what the future holds for anyone...... Hell, his career could end today.

There is no "maybe". Heart plays no factor. You cannot run successfully in the NFL in your mid-30's. lol

"Hey... Who knows?"... Hey, you're right, maybe my 1990's fantasy will still come true. I'll still sleep with Jennifer Aniston and we'll run off together and start a life! Who knows what the future holds!? Maybe Jimmy Clausen will become a hall of fame quarterback, or... a national ping pong champion!?

To trade Forte You need another team that:
A. Willing to take on his salary- something like $7M in base salary.
B. have the cap space to take that on?
C. A belief that Forte is the missing piece to complete a playoff run. Or an injury to RB to make Forte a need position.
D. RB's simply don't generate high draft picks. Especially 30 year old RB's. It's doubtful anyone gives up more than a 5th round pick.

Matt Forte isn't going anywhere.

Forte is the kind of back that knows how to get tackled. He gets the yardage and accepts that yardage and goes down. Nobody mentiones how physical Payton was, but most of his sweeps ended up with him going out of bounds, not getting hit by each of the 11 players on the oppositions defense. Forte has also not been utilized on goal line situations to hammer the middle of the line. I say teams know his phenomenal shape and lack of bone crunching hits will extend his career. Sure they will use the over 30 excuse to try to jew the bears down, but they know he has a great chance of producing for a few more years.

Did we watch the same Payton?

I specifically remember him NOT running out of bounds without first INITIATING contact with a defender.

I know the age says otherwise, but the eyes tell me Forte is the best he's ever been...RIGHT NOW.

He is is making all the right decisions effortlessly. His durability is second-to-none in the NFL.

I say he has 3 more solid years at least.

Was going to post this exact thing. I think AI may, in fact, have soup in his head.

nothing to do with being a nazi, (nice of you to respect nazi's so much that you capitalize it though) what do you think the saying is, chew down a price during negotiations?

right, 6 some million cap space is all the room a team needs by October 28th deadline. If they are not planning on extending him, he should be moved. Right now the bears have over 5 million in cap space. If they are going to extend him or Alshon, they need to do it this year where they can give them that bonus money and lower the cap hits over their contracts. If Forte wants 8 million over the next three, it ends up hitting the cap at 19 not all 24. I would say trade him or extend him and use the money.

The primary virtue of moving Forte this season would being able to extend Jeffrey now. I mean, yes of course an extra draft pick is always good, but clearing some cap space to make the Jeffrey payment work is the main benefit.

I don't see the Bears re-signing Forte this offseason unless or until they let him test his market value first. Just a guess of course, but seems like the way this front office has been handling things.

I read an article on ESPN that stated the Bears are expected to be $50 million under cap when the season ends. That should be more than enough to get a deal done with him.
