I don't think Chip put together a bad football team, I think he put together an inexperienced football team. This football team has a whole lot of talent, you can see it, but that talent has been replaced all at one shot, and it just doesn't work that way. Injuries have been a killer, we have yet to see our Linebackers that we were suppose to see. The offensive line has been a total disaster. Sole blame goes on Chip for that one. Chips failure to address the o-line the last 2 seasons in the draft has cost the Eagles dearly. Howies pick of Marcus Smith again has cost this team dearly. Myself, I wanted Bradley Roby in that draft, and he was the shutdown CB we needed, and because we didn't get that, we had to over pay for Maxwell. Marcus Smith doesn't even play, draft picks like that set your football team back years. Years of poor drafting have also put Chip in a bad spot. I think Chip is a smart guy, with a brilliant football mind, and I think everyone would have given the man a chance to get this team headed in the right direction....However, his smugness and condescending attitude has turned nearly everyone against him. Philly is a tough city, if you are gonna gonna strut like a king you damn sure better not play like a queen. That said, I still like Chip the head coach...Chip the GM, not so much.

The deep ball got on track. And Sam Bradford's confidence could be what we need to get rolling. We just have to put it all together in the same game. Our toughest games will be against division opponents who know chip better than his own players do at this point. And that was a great catch by garcon. Sometimes you lose that way. Just gotta get hot at the right time.

I agree with almost everything you said wings except the O-line comment. While it is semantics I would not put the past 2 years on Chip. He is on the hook for this year but the team needed so many things going in it was hard to address them all. I think he made the right choice but getting rid of Herremans and Mathis but at the same time he overvalued what he already had.

The OL only plays well in spurts and Bradford only plays well in spurts ... in the few instances when they both play well together you see some really good plays, the problem is that this isn't happening often enough. Bradford has to get the ball out quicker ... when you don't have mobility or escapability you can't just sit back there waiting for college separation. The other problem is that we continue to run Murray east/west ... it's simply not his game. I don't understand why we pay an arm and a leg for a north/south runner only to run him side to side?

If they had a kicker that could make some kicks they may be 3-1 and people would have a much rosier view.

If Agholar catches and didn't commit the penalty we still win. If the kicker makes it we win. If Garcon doesn't make both incredible catches we win. We're close.

Could pick up some ground next week. With Brees' arm bad and throwing ten yard passes it plays into our front 7 which is much better than our DB's.

Week 5:
Patriots @ Cowboys
Skins @ Falcons
49ers @ Giants
Saints @ Eagles

This team is wasting great defensive efforts week after week - they are running those guys into the ground and it is blatantly obvious late in the games

I realize they want to establish the running game but I think the offense has quit being aggressive - the TD's they scored yesterday was because they were aggressive - Sam Bradford isn't just a check down quarterback, he can throw the ball much better than people are led to believe and those touchdowns yesterday proved that

I think there is this idea or narrative that because the Eagles petered out at the end of last year that they had to change their offensive approach and be more of a running team but I feel like they are forcing the run - they're not passing enough to make the defense honest - they have to go for big plays so that the defense has more to consider - if the Eagles do this more then they can start to run the ball more - the NFL is a big play league now and the Eagles need more big plays and the personnel is there to do it but it needs to be executed more - all I want Chip to do is be more aggressive at the start of games so that they can have a lead and be more comfortable

If you're living (and apparently dying) with a quick-tempo, high-energy offense, you had damned well better figure out how to keep the ball moving. All the other offseason moves are arguably okay. The O line is the weak link here, and unless they find a way to protect Bradford better, it's gonna be a miserable rest of the season.

Very objective Wings. I agree with you on much of this. I however, like Chip's cockiness/confidence, and the way he thinks quick on his feet. He doesn't stammer and stutter, and has answers to all questions. You're right - he can't right the ship all at once, and this is a long season. as bad as we have played, we're still only 1 loss behind the other teams in the division. And they don't look good at all. So, I am going to calm down and see how this plays out. We are fans, and not very patient, and I think that if Chip can get decent line play he can still win the division. Even with the bad o-line play, the defense should have stopped the last Wash drive.

Cowboys will lose, as well as the Skins. the Gianst should beat the Niners.

It will not be easy to beat the Saints if they can't pass rush. Brees will pick us apart. Hope we can, but we need our o-line and pass rush to improve a lot.

If my aunt had balls she's be my uncle.

Bottom line is Chip doomed this team. Cowardly lion at QB, scrubs on the o-line, rookie receiver starting who drops half his passes--it's not going to be a pretty year.

And next season Chip will be coaching at Texas or USC. He will bail on this train wreck and leave Lurie holding the bag on his terrible personnel decisions. Book it.

What If?? What if the D put pressure on Cousins and makes a stop on the last drive?

Bottom line is we should have struggled against the skins.

Very encouraged by what I saw out of Sam yesterday. He looked like the real deal.

People seem to really overlook what a difference Peters makes with this team.
- Jason was injured during Reid's last season which was a big part of the reason they went 4-12.
- Jason was fairly healthy the last two years and they went 20-12.
- Jason has been struggling with injuries this year and the line looks like crap. These OL struggles are more about Peters and Kelce than anything else. The old guards and the new ones are nothing special, but they aren't getting the same pro bowl performances out of the pro bowlers.

I think Wings said that the only recourse Chip has, is to sign an OL form other teams practice squads.

It's apparently surprising to our front office brain trust, but when your former Pro Bowl LT gets into his mid 30s, it's pretty predictable that before long his performance will take a drop.
