And calling people Bitches improves our society? That's being respectful?

Again, I'm ok with it. You say your not yet did exactly what you don't like...LOL.
I'm calling ignorance for what it is.

If you wish to act like you missed the point, meh.

#1 The eagles made the change last year iirc
#2 "the PC is killing us" crowd is a bunch of bitches. I don't understand how it hurts you to do the right thing or why you'd waste energy fighting doing the right thing.

I read something one time that I liked. A guy set up a rule on his web browser to replace "policitcal correctness" with "basic human decency", because that is really what people are fighting against, so you would read the previous statement as "basic human decency is killing us". I really enjoyed seeing that, made me chuckle quite a bit.

If you do any research into the origins of the term, which was literally in the dictionary as a racial slur at one point, you will understand why some people think it is a bad name. Yes, some American Indians had red skin, in the same way that some hispanics had wet backs after crossing the Rio Grande. Doesn't mean it's a good thing to call them.

Even if you could make an argument that somehow it wasn't considered offensive at some point, that is no longer the case. There are derogatory terms for other races that have been dropped or significantly downplayed in the public vernacular because they are no longer acceptable. Society learns and grows, and like Freamon said, humanity continues to improve. I'm both amused and frustrated by the mental gymnastics that some people go through to justify the continuation of a term that openly displays hatred and bigotry.

So people are paying good money for jerseys... wearing T-shirts... hats... spending millions of dollars in Redskin stuff, in order to display hatred and bigotry, and not pride, unity, and support??? They come together nearly 100,000 people each week in a stadium to promote hate and not be a part of something??? Well, now it all makes sense.

Simple solution is buy the team from Snyder and rename it. Those Indian casino moguls aren't spending their money helping those on the reservations, why not buy the team. It's been Redskins since 1932, it took a generation of millenials to determine whats appropriate for everyone.....lmao

Perhaps it was never appropriate, and only recently has there been a salient voice to object. Or one that finally refused to be marginalized by the mainstream. A history of racism is hardly an argument for it's continued encouragement.
