:). Right. Pretty sure if you took a poll on the chances DMac will be a star next yr or any yr from here to kingdom come you'll prob not like the results. Unless of course they all drop some acid then ya definitely got a shot my man. Not rooting against him by any means. He certainly hasn't earned that kind of endorsement since his rookie yr. How many yrs ago was that? Can't remember that far back ;) Cheers
When did I ever mention DMac? We were talking about Collins lol

Well......he was mentioned in the post and it could of been interpreted you were responding to last sentence with DMac name drop???? So.......take that! :) PS. Would of loved Denver to have went after Collins and was pretty disappointed when they didn`t, seeing we had/have O- line issues.

What about all those Bronco fans with a lisp who won't be about to say Collin's first name?

Not fare and you should know that Fox ran a different System . look we got more talent on this team thanks to Elway . I don't care if he misses on players as long as RFA's and all the other low round guys keep performing like this ..

Fox had say on who to draft so Elway is only as good as the staff around him . Look I get it We all want all picks to be great .. realty is one good player per draft is more likely .. over all Elway is money ..

i think I understand now.

If a pick is great, it is Elway's brilliance.
If a pick flops, it was the fault of the staff.

I do agree that not all picks work out, but being the chief means you share credit with others and take the blame when things fail.

This has been discussed before, John has been brilliant in the later rounds. Not so much in the early rounds When you consider what he left on the board. Now I say this after he has drafted 2 guys who I really wanted in Roby and Ray. Despite my nitpicking I love Elway overall obviously. He has set the ship right after the disaster we call McDaniels. He shoots from the hip and remains aggressive in his approach to getting what he wants

No with RB you go with what the Head Coach wants and the style of Player they want .. Being a GM you need to fit player and Coach you have at that time ..

Did we need at RB the whole time Fox was hired ? I would say no ! Did Elway find hidden great player's that beat out high draft picks ? sure... does that make him a GM ...I say no .

We blame you for a lot more than just George.

Just as long as you know it started with George - hence the saying "By George!"

The quote usually attributed to George - Let George do it.

Not sure where speed comes in with Ball and those characteristics... Power and physical, are much the same IMO. Let's face it, in regards to Ball, many, including me were optimistic as to his success going forward. Truth be though the scouting and or game film on him must not have been scrutinized as well as it should of I supposse. ( I certainly didn`t analysis it ) If I was scouting a rb for a team I would be looking at how well the back did when the designed hole wasn't open. Did he still get positive yds regardless. I think the zone blkg at Wisconsin was pretty irrelevant with Ball when he pretty much had a big hole opened up for him before he even had to cut back:). I would have to go back and look at more game film on him but have a feeling it will show that a lot of the guess work was taken out of the equation for him for the most part. They ( Wisconsin ) have for yrs now had massive top recruit linemen. IMO of course. :)

Montee had 4.7 YPC with a pretty big sample size as a rookie. Something is missing in his game post-injury, or his line is worse, but let's not act like he had no business in the league.

And our offensive line was terrible during Montee's Senior year. The OL Coach was fired mid season they were so bad, and while Montee's numbers weren't exceptional, he still won the Doak Walker Award.

Montee was never Melvin Gordon, but he has some of the best vision out there. His ceiling is low but his floor was high. Luckily, you have two backs above that floor. That's a good thing.
