I couldn't agree with you more, re: your comment on Mr Gallo. If we were 12 games behind and just playing out the season, I'd be on board. And like you, why did you trade for Nap if we're going to waste an entire position/AB on a guy who hasn't hit his weight at any level in 3 months is ridiculous? And to make matters even worse, per se, Gallo is playing out of position.

Kela and Tolleson have certainly been overused, at least it appears to some/most of us. So, we're on the same page here. But let me ask you this, how much input does Maddux get when pitching changes are made? I'd think a lot. Especially since Banister is new to our league/team and position, you'd think he'd lean quite heavily on someone as experienced/respected as Mike. So is he? If not, why not? Or are the two of them on the same page?

Lastly, Washington never overachieved with a lineup like the one we put on the field for most of the first half IMO. He somehow kept the teams confidence up, never quit on them, and consequently, here we are in a pennant chase. So, cutting him so slack makes sense to me.
I really should reread my posts when I am typing ticked off. LOL!

First game against the Padres was shitty too. Richards is the toughest pitcher we face this series. Flush it and win the next two.

He has always swung at garbage but his skills

I posted the actual text about 2 pages before. Sorry for some of you but I am not on the Bannywagon right now. I am still on the fence with him. He has made some absolutely idiotic decision. Venable makes a pitcher throw around 6 pitches per AB and in his last 2 ABs has walked. To play a guy in hope of getting his confidence back at the expense of the rest of the team is ridiculous. He has absolutely wasted the reason we got Napoli as the ABs he has gotten were in situations not intended for him to bat. And how many more of our better pitchers to we need to wipe out pitching them in situations where they should have been resting. We see very little of the rest of the pen. I said on the Padres post there are some good things about him. I will stop there but if this was RW making these decisions we would be having a field day but for some reason we seem to cut this guy some slack.
I think that was because Wash was on a whole different level and that was after several years of being a manager. Wash would make the same kind of mistakes Banister makes only Wash would have a bunch of other mistakes as well. The man forgot to warm up his closer on 2 different occasions. That is 2 more times than all of our other managers combined. Wash was on a whole different level. The one feather everyone stuck in Wash's cap was the players played "hard" for him. It was something that couldn't be proven. They seem to play just as hard for Bogart and Banister and they played hard for Buck too.

He has some good things but the bad are blatant bad decisions that most baseball fans are confused by.

This Gallo situation is by far and away my biggest head scratcher of the season. He wasn't hitting AAA pitching and he wants to get him going facing ML starters. Just cannot get my mind-hands around this one at all.

I really should reread my posts when I am typing ticked off. LOL!

Naw.....it's part of the posting process IMO. Part of the fun here is to blow off some steam and if you happen, on off chance, to insert your boot in your mouth, it's not the end of the world. ha ha ha Just roll with it. Besides, you can always apologize later. There'll be no hard feelings.

You're exactly right. I never expected a sweep here to begin with. Why? Well, we've never hit Richards worth a damn, so that puts one game in jeopardy, before we ever got to the park.

Now, let's hope Holland can right the ship.

Our offense better rake Weaver and Santiago. They have not been pitching well.

For the most part the Big XII are playing patsies this weekend other than Texas and TCU. Funny that ESPN analysis of the UT-ND game is being done by Golden Tate and Mike Golic, both former ND players. No point to listening to that analysis. Big XII could be interesting between Baylor, TCU and Oklahoma.

Probably so....but I'm sure as hell cheering for them - maybe it's more against the Irish - tonight.

Got a Horn-buddy taking his Jr at TX son to the game.

And I gotta admit, as much as I despise all things "Fighting Irish" I've never known an individual who went to South Bend and left there with anything bad to say about it. From the food, the stadium, the ambiance of the campus, the respectfully people, nothing was done with anything less than class. Sorry to say, that ain't happening in Knoxville.

Gawd, that pained me to say that. ha ha

You're welcome.....and it's more than fair if I/we want to banter about re: something other than our baseball team, take it elsewhere.

Go Rangers!

Weaver has been very good at home though. He's the type of pitcher that will make me very mad if we can't hit him. His velocity is gone.
