Just the preseason, but #Broncos center Matt Paradis is ranked 3rd at his position, per @PFF. New starter. Good sign for the Manning and co.

Retweeted by Denver Broncos...

He has looked pretty darn good !

I live in Boise and I actually know him. Great kid! Works his ass off. So thrilled to see him doing well. He was pretty confident going into camp that he was going to win the job.

You can tell He is opening holes .... I am not sure why the short yardage problem of last game were but will get Straighten out .. Plenty huge gains though his hole ...he did it in college so I was pretty sure he was going to do it here ... For a Center he is not half bad moving and finding targets ..

From what I have read even beyond that the coaches are very impressed with his intelligence of the game and recognizing where pressure is coming from and communicating that with the rest of the OL.

Mathis, Paradis and Vasquez - that sounds like a very solid front to me.

I think you guys need to look at the Mathis comments when he was released by Eagles. Around the league he wasn't getting much love. Don't put too much into those pro bowl appearances. Not saying it's a bad move. Denver needs help there, but don't get too excited.

Well the Eagles had one of the most athletic lines in all of football the last couple of years with Mathis playing that LG position that does the most pulling in that offense. So yes I think he will do great pulling.

They did run a bit different scheme than what we will run as they had more of the zone-read type movement going on but it was still a position more based on movement ability than strength which is what fits our system best. Like I said he has graded out as one of the best especially run blockers in the entire league mostly because his athleticism for the position is off the charts. Going to be fun watching this run game!

We signed him for a base salary of $2.5 million with incentives based on snaps played that can take it up to $4 million. He left the Eagles where they were going to pay him $5.5 million. He also turned down another team he said today that offered him a $5.5 million base salary today. So essentially was willing to come to Denver for $3 million less in the hopes of winning a Super Bowl.

He can definitely do that. I'll have to go back and watch his games from last year and will give my full thoughts on him then but if I remember right they were a team that loved to do a lot of the same things we did. The biggest difference with them is more they spread their OL players out more and they had to win the one on one battles more than what we will have here where it will be more team blocking to then shed off to the 2nd level. Kubiak's ZBS is a lot different than what other teams run. The biggest thing though that Mathis brings is athleticism and that is exactly what you need in this scheme to do well.
