Reasons why I think he has a pretty good year
1.Fully Healthy
2.Year 2 in the system
3.Improved O-line
4.First time having a QB Coach since being in the NFL
5.Run Game should be vastly improved with a upgraded O-line and a bruiser running back in Matt Jones to pair with Alfred Morris

Attitude probably got put in check with his failures and benching. I'd bet it was probably the first time in his playing career, even as a kid, that he's sucked or not done well. When you've been the top dog for that long, you're going to have an ego. All the best QB have it and frankly, need it, IMO. He clearly needed to mature to the point where he took more accountability. I think that's what rubbed most people the wrong way. I never felt he was/is a selfish guy. He just gets asked the most questions and answers them. He needs to learn how to play the media game better.

I think his lack of ability to process and react to what he sees on the field has more to do with keeping him down rather than his attitude or ego. That and he can't slide for sh*t.

Jon... an overwhelming attitude of I am the best when you clearly have a ways to go, and an Ego that prevents one from working to improve in the right areas because you feel that these areas are not a part of the problem will directly contribute to failure. I agree that to be the best you must see yourself as the best. But when you begin to feel that you dont need to adjust to the team, it needs to adjust to you...... Well now we got issues.

Agreed 100%. But how do you say that he feels he doesn't need to adjust to the team and it should adjust to him? Clearly he's been working hard, the coaches all say they are happy with his progress. All the beat reporters/bloggers are saying he looks improved. He tries (most of the time) to avoid unnecessary hits (the guy is a hit magnet though, geezus).

Regardless, it's show me time for him. Hopefully we benefit. If not, time to draft a new QB.

I say that because he has shown a habit of NOT adjusting to the team. Year two under Shanahan he had issue with the offense. And apparently he is only NOW buying into the Gruden plan. And coaches were saying this time last year they were impressed with his work ethic and what he was doing on the field. I dont think we see the real product until things go off script.

Its a non issue for me; what do you expect him to say? "No I'm not as good as my peers and the organization and fans shouldn't expect to much from me this year. "

If a player is good enough to make it to the NFL chances are they are very confident in themselves and abilities. If not they won't last in the league for long. And besides when pundits scoffed at both Flacco and Eli Manning saying the same thing they backed it up and won the Superbowl the years they said it.

Curious that practically at the same time we have one pro athlete saying that he believes himself to be the best......we have another saying that he doesn't believe that he will make the cut in basketball (John Wall). RG's statement was poorly worded and that's his biggest issue. Had he said that he was working hard to become recognized as the very best in the league, I sincerely doubt that would garner as much blowback.

He needs to stop telling people how good he is and start showing it on the field. What is holding him back from success on the field can largely be attributed to his ego. He came into the league believing he was a finished product and ready for anything. He resisted coaching and guidance, demanding he be used in a way he wasn't ready for. We can only hope that he has matured enough that he will now accept guidance from his coaches, but statements like these have to make you wonder.

Even in full context, not a smart thing to say. He comes across as entitled and arrogant. It's one thing to say you WANT to be the best and think you can get there. It's another to say something patently absurd. You have to wonder how that plays with his teammates.

what sucks about it he has to answer questions or he will get fined like Marshawn Lynch did and the media is ready to spin and twist every word he says

To be fair, today's media is a piece of crap. Another example, I'm watching my Cubs play Detroit and they have a segment coming up comparing Kris Bryant to Ted Williams and Kyle Schwarber to Babe Ruth...give me, I mean these kids who haven't done jack shit yet, a fucking break please.

In the end the play of RG3 & the team this season will determine how most Redskins fans view this (& frankly that is all that I care about - could give crap @ the opinions of the media & other fans since they will be biased anyhow).

If RG3 does well most of this will be forgotten & the tone of the interviews will be quite different. If he fails like he has done the past few seasons then very few fans will back him up anyhow. The media is using this story to fill airtime rt now. No doubt another flavor-of-the-day story will come along in a few days & move this to the back page.

Mitchell goesI've QuoteRG3 after comments -- for different reason | CSN Mid-Atlantic I agree with everything b-mitch said and envisioned shark up there doing that rant quote:D

I agree that he should talk a lot less at this point, but as Ive also insisted upon there is no one to compell his silence nor give direction on better handling the media.

The story that is not getting enough attention in this instance is the one where T. Wiley actually pulls Griffin aside and informs him not to speak to the media. Later after some lobbying he was allowed to speak to a small group after practice..........WTF!!!!!! Management grow a set and take charge of your personnel!!! Next time that you give a directive and a player is trying to get you to change your mind(s) just do this........:hellno:
