Kelleyman I completely agree in that he should be moved down in the order. At least 6 or below. Not sure why we keep him in the 2 hole. He has been a rally killer.

donaldson I understand what you are saying as well which is why about 10-12 posts before I was saying for the life of me I cannot understand what is going on with this guy. I keep waiting for him to turn the corner. So based upon what you are saying is that you hate to give up on a guy who had proven himself in the past and just when you give up and get rid of him he finds himself. I just hope he finds himself soon.

This is your classic, it's not a matter of someone being right and someone else is wrong. It's just how we want to rectify the situation, we're coming at it from different angles.

I've said this before - a lot before - that Choo is one of the bigger mysteries in memory for me. Thought we were getting a guy we could play the field (at least adequately), decent arm, decent speed (knew when and how to use it), hit for both avg and power, take pitches, work the pitcher, with a TERRIFIC attitude.

Hardly any of this is true.

But the team is in such a tough position, I think they're willing to pull out all stops to see if we can salvage this man. Including putting him the 2 hole, and hope/pray between Prince and Mitch, they'll give him something better to hit, and he'll get himself turned around. So far, this isn't true AT ALL.

He needs to be platooned, he's useless against LHPs right now

Rua can play day games for Hamilton and against LHPs for Choo

We should do that. Choo struggled average wise against LHers even before he came to Texas but he still had a good OBP. But even that has now tanked.

guess that makes us better...which kinda begs the question.

What player or players have fully met expectations on what we thought they were at their best?
Besides the rule 5 guy....I see Moreland, Gallardo and perhaps our new closer. I think that's the bigger problem in Texas this season. Most are having down years

Perez activated and will make the first post-ASG start for the Rangers. Mendez optioned to AAA, which is odd because I thought he was already there.

Delino DeShields is doing a fine job. Kela has been way over used but all in all he has done very well. Lewis has pitched well. Agree most are sub par.

I see where you are coming from too which is why I think we should wait a little to move Choo unless a great return presents itself. Re the order, I have bad memories of the preferred vet treatment of MY etc in the lineup. I just want the hot bats up in the lineup.

One thing of interest is I personally do not see bat speed being the issue. More of lack of confidence and bad recognition of pitches. Totally distracted by his mechanics. Nothing looks natural or fluid

I'd add nick martinez and Wandy, simply b/c most people didn't expect much, Odor is about where we expected or probably will be soon after a terrible start

I'd even add Fielder to that list actually, he's changed his approach quite a bit but he's still providing results if not HRs liek we expected

I never expected much of anything out of Choo after about 3 years here anyway so I have no problem with getting rid of him at any time. Now or in the offseason whichever they want to do. The sooner the better as far as I am concerned, but if they need to wait until the offseason then I can live with that.

Considering he made his last start the day after Jose Fernandez and then both had TJ surgery (couldn't find the date of their surgeries though) and then Fernandez made 2 pre-ASG starts, Perez seems to be right on track

And Fielder. Has done well as our DH.

Berman can't even keep track of how many HRs hit by Rizzo. Format may be better but media still messes it up.
