Pacers? Not a chance. Heat maybe… depends on the health of Wade Deng & Bosh. If they are all 100 percent in the playoffs along with Dragic-Whiteside-Winslow, etc. they could also be a factor in the East. Still not good enough to reach the Finals though.

Sounds good to me.
Fuck the Pacers then.

Cousins IS a star. Russell is an unproven rookie, you always take the best player available. And after how the Lakers have fucked off this free agency we need a marque player.

Yes, if you want to win now! If you want to build for the future you keep Russell.

Well you said it was easy. Kobe is still "great" and he sucks at it :laugh3:

Kobe hasn't been the best player in the league for 5 years, maybe 6. Back then, guys were asking him to get them to the Lakers and staying because he was there.

Now, at 37 and in his last year, I agree with the Lakers fans who say that he really shouldn't even be in the recruiting meetings.

If we traded Russell for Cousins, we'd be in the mix for the playoffs with Clarkson, Kobe, Randle and Cousins.

In other words, when all of the other teams are getting better, the Cavs will be standing pat and Lebron will be getting older.

It's been put to them "in other words" in several different versions.

I guess the LeBron spell over them blinds them from reality, unless they really believe that this in some cases grossly overpaid core is something unique and special.

I heard the Lakers are getting him. Kobe is going to SF, and Rondo is playing SG lol

That was before they drafted Russell. Thank God for that. I wasn't completely against the idea of signing Rondo at the right price, because I think he wants to try and prove himself. But I'm glad the Lakers aren't testing my theory.

Can you name a better, younger core in the league. I'll wait. They have a little bit of everything. Bigs, defense, shooting, guys who can create, stars.

Then even if the cap is still high, you can get good role players to fit in where the holes are. Shooters, defensive guys, scorers, etc.

Lakers are doing exactly what I expected. The went for guys like Aldridge, Jordan and Monroe but failed to recruit them. No biggie! I don't blame the players as they want to win now. At least the front office went after these guys immediately showing their willingness.

We have a shitload of youth in the team that just needs to develop. If all goes to plan, Russell and Clarkson will be one of the deadliest backcourt pair in the league and Randle will be a solid double-double guy in the paint.

I'll be happy to wait. I've seen the Lakers win 10 NBA champions as a fan - probably more than any other fan can say.

The future is looking bright!

I'm old. I've seen all 11 titles won in Los Angeles.

Why rush? Just see how he does, even with Cousins the Lakers arent going anywhere this year.

Yeah, IF they trade any young assets for Cousins, I'd rather it be Randle. I won't like it, but I'd like it a whole lot less if they traded Russell for him.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'd like Hill coming back at a cheaper price than 9 million if we can't get Cousins. Upshaw looks like a sleeper for a big that didn't get drafted. Maybe, we can release Sacre? Or trade him to the Clipps?

:heh:

No real reason to not bring back Sacre. He makes under a million a year and somebodies got to be the 11th or 12th man. At least he plays his ass off every time he gets on the court. It's never pretty and not always productive, but he busts his ass nonetheless.

Seriously.....The Kyrie and Love deals are absolutely GREAT for the Cavs cap wise going forward and each guy is very young- Love is surprisngly 26 years old and Kyrie 23.....in 2-3 years those contracts will only look better when Love is making 22M and Kyrie 16 and guys are signing for 26-30M that are not nearly as good. And I love that they tied up Shumpert and Thompson- for multiple years going forward and will let this pair of 24 year old guys grow together with the Big 3.

The Haywood contract gave them flexibility this offseason---- the VArejao contract is structured the same way. And the Cavs are ALWAYS goign to be able to attract those vets who just want tot ry and get a ring before they retire-and sometimes those guys work out- James Jones- sometimes they dont- Shawn Marion.

Ill say- bring it on if another team thinks they can put together a core of LeBron, Kyrie,Love, Tristan, Shumpert over the next 4-5 years. Good luck beating that in the EAst- LeBron is going to go to 10 straight freaking Finals before all is said and done, lol....

The most vulnerable the Cavs were EVER going to be int he next 5 years is last year when the team was new, the coach was new, and the guys hadnt quite figured it out yet....Now? Anyone thinkthe Bulls are going to beat the Cavs any time soon? not likely.

I am sure the LAST thing the Cavs fear is a Miami team that is just going to continue to age - or a Pacers team that has lost a lot of their core, or a Wizards team that just lost its heart in Pierce...Really- the Bucks and Bulls are the 2 teams that I think going forward will be the Cavs best competition inthe EAst- and the Bucks are 2 years from really challenging probably...and the Bulls certainly have not pulled anything off this offseason- while they will get Love and Varejao and Kyrie back next time we play.

Well, D. Jordon is off to Dallas and Aldridge is going to take a couple of days to decide where he is going to play for the next couple of years. Ought to be an interesting summer league.

So, are you now saying its championship or bust?

And 10 Finals in a row....?
You must think that somehow they can figure out a way to stop James from aging and while they're at it come up with bionic body parts for 'young' Kyrie.

And little bit of everything excluding any rings except for the couple that James has that have HEAT on them.
Sorry, more karma coming.
Gilbert simply won't be rewarded in the way he hopes.

If we traded Russell for Cousins, we'd be in the mix for the playoffs with Clarkson, Kobe, Randle and Cousins.

We don't need to worry about being in the playoffs this season. We need to worry about developing the youngsters. Kobe leaves after this year and they are left with only Randle and Clarkson, instead of Russell, Randle and Clarkson.

I swear, you were probably pissed when they traded Vlade for some high school kid.
