Samardzija started this whole thing last year when he was with the A's. He cusses at players all of the time and has the reputation of a whiner. After a KC player hit a home runoff Samardzija in their first series, he intentionally beaned the very next batter and didn't get suspended or anything. If the league would have reprimanded him at that time, none of this would of happened. Then he instigated all of the "throwing of punches" and pushed a Manager to the ground. He should have got 10 games and maybe he might grow up. Ventura needs to understand that his temper is hurting his team.

Oh, and the only to suspend pitchers is to have them miss starts. Suspending them during games in which they would have not entered is no punishment at all.

I think that brawling every now and then is part of baseball culture. The negative that comes out of it is that you lose key players. I think that KC management need to sit Ventura down and explain to him to keep his emotions in check. He means too much to their team to be suspended for any length of time. Looking forward to the 4 game matchup between the Tigers and Royals over Thursday-Sunday of next week.

Lorenzo Cain made a very mature statement in regards to the situation but that is while nothing is happening.

It's over until someone feels like they got wronged by the opposite team and it is back on.

Still think Eaton should have received a suspension for inciting along with Ventura. Ventura was in the wrong and probably will be more often than not but Eaton should share the blame and suspension with him.
