The Giants made more teams look bad last postseason than the Royals did, yet they haven't been in any big fights, let alone three.

I do get the feeling though, that if they played the Royals they would.
Just out of curiosity, how many teams did they sweep that were better than them on paper and had a higher payroll?

He's going to be hearing a lot of chatter now from opposing dugouts trying to get in his head. He better get used to it and not let it get to him.

Yep.

I'm sure the team is trying to pound that message into his head

Exactly. And now teams know it works!

He just got a big contract. He needs to grow up and earn it.

*Just imagine what will go on if/when he pitches in the series out in Oakland in June.

(speaking of the Braves-Padres brawl)
He was actually tragically murdered not long ago in his home country. Rail thin guy who always managed to find trouble...sorta like Joaquin Andujar without the muscle to back up the attitude.
He got lost on the Interstate in Atlanta his rookie year. I think he missed his start.. Just kept circling...

Bruce Levine ‏@MLBBruceLevine Numerous sources confirmed to me that White Sox starter Chris Sale tried to get in Kansas City locker room after the fight.

That would have been a very foolish thing to do. He'd have gotten the shit beat out of him, suspended for the rest of the season and probably arrested.

... If that was the case, one would think the Giants, with 3 of the last 5 championships, would be fighting all the time.

I really never get tired of seeing that

Oh, man. Are you fucking serious? You need to get a grip, my friend.
Simmer down, Nancy. Just making a point that the Royals playoff run up to the WS was pretty damn impressive. Don't get all dramatic just because someone else has a subjectively different opinion.
But just looking at the maths... 8-0 is a better percentage than 8-2.

The Royals PR people are making gift bags for the White Sox for their next visit. It will include some antidepressants, soothing vaginal cream and this shirt.

Oh, Jesus. This shit about "we beat teams in the postseason and now they're after us." Laughable.

I know you aren't familiar with what it's like to win postseason series -- or even make the postseason, for that matter -- but teams generally don't fight teams that made them "look bad" last season. If that was the case, one would think the Giants, with 3 of the last 5 championships, would be fighting all the time.

Oh, I agree, I have never played on a pro team or in a postseason series let alone win one, have no idea what its like. I am postitive nobody in here has.

Right! But Torii Hunter has and said the early 2000s Twins experienced other teams trying to rattle their cages and likened it to what the Royals have been seeing to start this season.
*Look back in the thread, someone else also brought it up. With a link, I think.

Dramatic? You're the one all stiff and swollen because of a playoff berth. Ever heard the phrase "act like you've been there?"

If there are any teams gunning for the Royals, it's because the are acting like asshats, not because of their great postseason run.

Drilling Lawrie was perfectly acceptable. The only problem was the timing. He should have done it in the first inning and not immediately after a 3 run HR

He just needs to ignore it when the other team is trying to start shit with him.

I can't recall any pitcher starting shit in 3 straight starts(or even 2?). I saw he was pitching last night and wondered what nonsense would happen in the game. I was STILL a little surprised to see the benches empty because of him. The guy is a fucking idiot. You can certainly defend him because he's talented, but what a fucking dunce.

Smart people are saying that Smarja was actually the one who started it, with all of his screaming from the dugout
