Hi guysm I hope you don't mind me posting in here, but I'll be working in Lincoln most of the month of May. What are the must see sites, other than the stadium of course. Also lookinf for recommendations for restaurants, bars, etc.

Thanks

As you said, you definitely want to see the stadium. The lobby area is open during business hours and anybody can just walk in, but I would definitely call and schedule a tour. If you go on one of the tours, they will normally take you out onto the field and stuff, which you can't do if you just walk in (most of the time). If you do end up just walking in, you could try to ask if there is any way you can get out on the field and play the "here for just a short while from out of town" card and you MIGHT be able to talk the guard into showing you around.

As far as the bars go, it depends on what you are looking for. There are the "college bars" if that's your thing, or there are other bars that cater to different clientele. I'm far from an expert on the bar scene though.

For restaurants, what type of food do you like? A lot of people will recommend Misty's, which is kind of the staple steakhouse of Lincoln. It's pretty good. Yia Yia's is a fun pizza place downtown, and I really like Bison Witches for sandwiches and soup. If you are in town for a while and have some time to drive up to Omaha, that opens up a whole new range of great places you can go. It's only about 45 min to an hour away depending on where you're heading.

Whenever I went and saw bands that came on tour through Lincoln they'd always say, "hey we heard about this place called Yia Yia's that we're supposed ta try."

Seems like that is a popular one for folks passing through the area.

I'd just tell you to go to Raising Cane's :noidea:

You can't really strikeout at any eatery downtown.

Seriously they're all good.

Bison Witches is good.

You gotta want a good sammich with chips and queso and a bread bowl filled with hot creamy soup though.

Imperial Palace on 27th and Vine is the best Chinese in the entire world.

Just don't eat at the one in the Union. It's a completely different restaurant and the meat is shit there.

When you're drunk at 2 am, hop over to D'Leon's on 27th and Randolph and pick up some of the best Mexican food around.
